Cruising GMR with a base fit?

Anyone run GMR while stock? Got tips? I'm going Friday with a few friends. I rode along in my friends WRX last week and didn't bring my car but I will be bringing the Fit out on Friday.

Still on stock tires too! I doubt I'll keep up with my friends but it should be fun still! Going around 5pm or so. Don't want to be up there when the racers come out.

sup mike... i dunno about gmr.. but i pushed my base around the mountains around malibu with a bunch of mr2s... pretty fun... but i'd assume the stock tires dont have a lot of grip... FF.. fast in slow out... but try not to get too much understeer

Yeah I wish I had a front strut bar but nothing yet. The stock tires on steelies are so narrow!

I've driven a similar road in Maui going to Hana in both a Corolla and a Mustang. I guess it shouldn't be to bad.

mike... performance wise... best mod for your fit is better tires... and might as well get some nice wheels while you're at it haha

2nd day i had my fit, i took a "brisk-cruise" thru azusa and out thru gmr. U'd b surprised how composed the GE is stock! As long as ure comfortable during understeer, u can plow thru dem canyons!

hahaha gmr if its your first time i would say go slow find out your cornering speed and how your fit handles a corner cuz i touge with my GD3 i've gone to lytle creek, watermen canyon, topanga canyon and soon to come carbon canyon =].....but the fit gives out alot of body roll and the stock tires have no grip i would say get some nitto nt450s

learn the limit when its stock.. then upgrade suspension.

stock tires are always fun.

If you want real good tires.. AD08 RE11 R1R Star Specs NT03.
KDW2 RE070 T1R or RT615 for mid priced tires.

Wow, I was braking like mad going down too much. When we stopped on the backside for people to catch up my rotors were red. Scary.

It was the first time I've ever seen red hot rotors up close. We chilled for like 10 minutes to let them cool off a bit.

We were done around 7:30 or so.

tires! it does a body good...

oh and check if the rotors are warped... some people said they tend to warp under hard braking...

i dont know bout GE's but GD's were pretty decent stock with just better tires and springs/coils. You would obviously not be able to keep up with Evo's and MR2's on straights but with some skills and decent tires you can avoid from being left way behind on crazy turns.
