tickets twice in 1.5 months

ok, so late december i got a fix it ticket for no front license plate...yes, i got pulled over JUST for that.

then TODAY, i got pulled over for tint in front windows...yes, i got pulled over JUST for that...and it was a CHP officer on the FREEWAY. wow. i wasn't speeding or anything either.

so question, i know i will remove the tint and get it fixed..but what should i do afterwards?

1. should i remove the front two and leave it untinted? ...but there's the front winglet windows with the limo tint..would it look too weird?

2. remove both the front two, and the front winglets and leave it un tint

3. or remove both the front two and the front winglets and after ticket, get it tinted back, but with the lightest shade...do u think i will still get caught?

but i knew i was risking it in california when i had it installed.

well the best way to avoid tint tickets is to not get tint in front in the first place...

but.... with that said.. i've been goin around with 30 fronts and havent been pulled over for them at all yet.. even had cops look over while sitting next to me at a stop light n didnt pull me over...

and if u decide to get 70... its not even noticable.. by you as the driver or others looking at your car.. so imo a waste of money if it barely tints anything... to me, its not noticable, a tint that doesnt tint...

well tint is pretty helpful for blocking UV/heat on your arms too though, but LIMO in front? that's pretty dark. You have a TW too so the contrast is probably really noticable

So after consideration, i am leaning towards just removing the front 2 window's tint...and leaving the winglet as is. maybe people will think it's just a big black front corner instead of a winglet window?

Just remove it. It's better to have one less reason for the cops to pull you over. I have tint from the dealer so there is ZERO tint on the fronts.

The less reasons a cop has to pull you over the better. Plus, what if they pull you over for speeding or something else, then on top of that you get the ticket for the tints.

^true. i agree.

ok, so if i decide to take off the front driver and passenger side windows, do u guys think it will look weird if i left the front tiny ones on? the cops said those were ok..but im asking more on an aesthetic level.

and since imma be in irvine more, imma leave the driver/front passenger off.

I would leave the two small ones it would give you some contrast and make it look different at the same time. My front window is tinted but thank goodness police in WV don't get too bent out of shape over it.

Most people I know with tint on the fronts drive with their windows down in certain areas that are prone to being pulled over. The OC is a bad place to have them unless you have a BMW or Mercedes.

it should be ok for the winglets since it doesn't cover up the driver's face.

I have 30% all around and I haven't been stopped by a cop for it. Cops will be next to me and they don't care - I guess it's still pretty visible through the tint. I've only been warned once for the tint when I got stopped for going 50 in a 40.

As for front license plate, just do it - that one is too obvious not to get caught with.

Have the shop remove the windows tint then see if it look ok with the little windows tinted. If you don't like it then have them remove.

There will always be that one cop that can and will ticket it for you. Or that other cop that can use that as an excuse to simply pull you over. It's best to not give any reasons to be pulled over in my opinion.

That is true but I guess we just have to face the consequences and risks of breaking the law regardless of how silly the law might seem. My point is just that my 30% has been light enough to not draw attention to it so far - I wouldn't go any darker than that for fear of getting stopped by every cop down the street.
