I hate/love having 18 x 7.5 on my car but I can't drive it the way I like. Its all show for now.

I tried to throw slicks on this past thursday and it ran slow and I felt like I didn't have control.

I can't wait to get my RE30's 17 x 9 = traction and back to buttonwillow and fontana raceway!
Are you going to buttonwillow 27-28th for the time attacks!

If so I'll see you there?
RE30's...nice choice. Those are great wheels and they look sick, too.

I'm supposed to be at Willow for Redline, yeah. Looks like I'm going to have to back out though. No daily driver at the moment...coils still aren't here, new tires aren't here yet either, my cams aren't in...the list goes on and on. I'll probably go to support my friends, though.

For some reason I always thought you were 26 Matt. Anyway I think I seen your Integra once while I was @ the Chase Bank on Las Tunas a few weeks back.

If you are perfect health and have a helmet then you are fine to race. You don't need them fancy accessories to have fun at the track. Your stock car would do fine. Again what do I know about racing.

I agree with that statement but I've been tracking my car at its different stages of the build to see what I'd like to change and what mods have been helping and what haven't.

I don't consider good tires fancy accessories. When I'm putting down a certain amount of whp, I definitely want some sticky-ass rubber to keep me glued to the tarmac and so I can push the car to its limits. Same with my suspension. Since my coils are out at the moment, I'm just on shocks and springs and the spring rate is way too low for how the rest of the car is set up. It just wouldn't work out too well if I tried to run it at the track as is.

I see what you are trying to say. You might be adding too many things where it would make it difficult for you to drive. More power doesn't necessarily mean faster time. Maybe it is just my generation or something. We improved our skills before we modify something. Like graduating a step at a time.

As for tires I understand. If it is worn might as well upgrade them.

I hope you don't find it offensive what I was saying. It wasn't mean to offend you but to express my opinion about it. I know we all like to modify our own vehicle. Believe it or not I do too. Sorry it is probably the racing instructor in me talking.

Sorry to be off topic.

Welcome Jenn

Nope. I'm 22. That's weird... I recently sold my DB8. And it hasn't been driven since September 09.

Adams is a POS track compared to any real track. Speedventures usually holds events at the local tracks and ur looking at about $150 a day, but they run specials if u do a 2day event. I forgot if ur car was AT or MT, but the BEST handling mod you can do on a MT car is LSD. Gives you so much more control.

lol LSD barely crossed my mind until i got coilovers, now i understand it all... How much is it though? like a grand for everything installed?

i think i'll actually attend an event.. im finally finished modding so now i can concentrate on other matters with my super low income I wonder if stock tires on stock rims would do okay... lol dont wanna waste the BF-Goodrich SS all-seasons

You should be okay with stock tires. But it won't last or stick as well.
I'll be getting michelin pilots soon for the tracks...

I wasn't impressed with nitto's..

Which Nitto's did you use? It's not just about picking a good tire or good suspension either...how the two work together is key.

You can use the stock tires, however the stock tires are HORRIBLE. If you want to build your skills before stepping up to a real track, autocross is always a good way to do that. You actually learn your car more doing autocross and can adapt easier to a road course with autoX skills.

Speed ventures is holding both a AutoX and doing the Roval at the Autoclub speedway in august. If your looking for good tires for track try the Proxes RA1 are a really good tire that wont break the bank. Or good ol reliable RT-615s.

dds^true that's why i was trying to find something that doesn't grip too much. My coilovers are not full track.. only about 6k spring rates up front and less in the rear. Although i havent tried the car with really grippy tires yet, i think too much will create excessive body-roll. a little better than right now seems like it would do perfect

nah i spent enough time driving hard in a small space, i really wanna get out there on the real thing
