I have a few myself. But you also should think, what would a practical hand gun be? What am I using it for?

these are mine

I agree with everyone.... take course in gun safely first!!! My father sign up me as kid not to learn only how fire a gun properly but how it can be a deadly weapon and not toy at the same time and learn the safely.

Funny how people buy for they safely and end up shooting them self in the foot or friendly-foe.

I don't personally own gun, but my father does and we go clay disc shooting sometime.

yea it really depends on the parts you want it....super basic can go from 750 upwards to a couple of grand depending on all the accessories you want...the good thing about guns as a hobby compared to cars is that guns don't depreciate as much

Figure out what you are going to get and take one of the NRA basic courses...they offer pistol, rifle and shotgun...

NRAInstructors.org - Portal for NRA certified Instructors, NRA Education and Training

A shotgun may be too much for your significant other. For someone looking for home defense, I strongly believe you can't go wrong with a revolver.

Point and click. Very basic, very simple. Nothing extra to have to remember in a crisis.

You can check out the 832 shooting class at Rio Hondo Police Academy in whittier. That is a good class to train you on guns and safety.
The instructors are retired Deputy Sheriffs and current officers.

I conducted the same type of poll on a forum for one of the Fit's competitors, the Suzuki SX4, after noticing a gun ownership trend. It was all very amusing to me. That forum is 8 times smaller than this one.

Let's hope there is never some Running Man style, subcompact car owner battle, reality tv show in the future. Do you own a gun? - SX4 Forums

I have a few guns but the best one I have for home defense is a .357 smith and weson. You want something reliable like a revolver or glock for that type of situation. MOst auto hand guns will jam at times and when you're defending yourself that is the last thing you want.
