I've seen this staggered set-up on time-attack cars in Japan and a few in the States IIRC...don't know what or if the advantages would be worth it on a street car though

I dont think you want to stagger a FWD car unless your drag racing and even then the big tires go on the front.

It is done to fight under-steer I believe, atleast I don't see any other reason for it other than weight savings...maybe someone else can chime in. That is a K-swapped car, however I've seen it in L15 powered Fits also.

EDIT

Now that I think about it, it could be done to clear the bigger brakes some of the race-prepped cars are running, so thats another good reason. Big enough up front just to clear the bigger brakes up front since the car is so nose-heavy, and weight-saving smaller wheels in the rear. Obviously this doesn't really apply to a street car..

It makes a ton of sense actually. You are just dragging those suckers behind you in our cars. With an independent rear suspension, I'm not sure it would be the best idea, but with the low camber changes on the trailing link design, it doesn't have a negative impact that I can see. More rotation on turn-in, fine tuning, and road handling of the rear would be improved.

I laughed so hard from this post I would never have thought big wheels in the front or back on this car, seriously people, what's wrong with balance that the cars come with, only rwd or all-wheel-drive can or should ever stagger in my books .

Tail lights ?

What tail lights do you have? They look a bit like 2012 RS.

Bigger rims in front DOES does serve a purpose.

It helps deal with understeer in FWD cars (along with a stiff front + rear sway bars). It's also a better choice to clear BBKs and allow for WIDER tires (245 and up) also the smaller sidewall flexs less under load in turns.

Usually this mod is for HIGH HP FWD cars.
