SoCal Fit meet (Summer 2012) Aug. 12 @10:30am

Rather than continue on an old thread, lets start a new one for a SoCal meet.

I know there are a few of us down in the SD area, but I think that meeting a little further north would be a better turn out. Lets get some suggestions for a few meeting areas to whittle it down a bit. I would prefer to stick to the coast and stay away from the heat. Was thinking of Orange County somewhere, maybe Dana Point, or Laguna Niguel?

As far as a meet time, lets aim for the end of July as we are already half way through June and that will allow people to move their schedules a bit. Throw out some weekends that work for everyone and we will get a better idea.

Lets make this happen.

Update: Meeting date is Aug. 12th @ 10:30am

the only thing about beaches is during summer on weekends they are a PITA. parking is screwed up, tons of people, no shade.

Prado Park in Chino is a really nice area. I think its $5-$10 for parking. Lots of space for cars and people

What if we meet at Irvine Park again-lots of shade, good parking, fun drive to get there... but take drive down through Santiago Canyon to Laguna Canyon to Salt Creek-good surf, big grassy area, etc...

This place sounds good to me. I know its not the beach, but a nice drive to a shady place that we can hang and cook beats finding a place to park on a busy summer weekend in HB.

Irvine Park Railroad
1 Irvine Park Road
Orange, CA 92869

Admission is $5 on the weekends and they are open till' 9pm.

The drive from SD looks pretty fun: 5N to El Toro to S18
