OFFICIAL SoCal Fit Fest '15 Party Planning Thread.

Hey all!

So a few of us have been in talks about setting up a summer SoCal Fit Meet (aka SoCal Fit Fest '15 ...Not final name*) and I think its time we get the ball rolling. The goal here is to have a super big meet and invite the NorCal guys to come down here for some good ol' Socal hospitality.

So things we will need:

1) Location/date - A place able of holding all the cars
2) Awareness- We need someone to be on social media spreading the word
3) Activities- Nothing worse than standing around with nothing to do
4) Photos- obvious duh
5) Food- Barbecue most likely, since we are hosting we are supplying the food. Everyone can pitch in a few bucks for hot dogs and snacks etc.

*6) Vendors- Lets try to invite some local tuning companies to come and show off their stuff. (this is an extra, since it might take some effort to actually get some companies to come out).
*7) Promo stickers made- I think we should try and get some stickers made for the event.

If your interested in helping please post below and list what part you want to work on.

Shit's gonna be tight!

*Wais can you sticky this for visibility?*

Great Glad to here! How would you feel about being in charge of food? We will all chip in money for the food. But someone needs to plan what we eat and cooking it etc.

I know Wais interested in having it close to Cerritos. Hopefully he will chime in with some info on that.

We have to be able to accommodate 40+ cars

Haha please don't put me in charge of food as I am not good at planning stuff out. I can pitch in but would not like to be responsible for getting it done.

What day of the week would it be on? Since there is talk about barbequeing would the meet be at a park? Or would someone bring a barbeque to a parking lot? If I have enough advance warning I'd be down to make the drive from Phoenix. Unfortunately, there are only three of us who are active in the area and I don't know if the other two would be willing to make the five-hour drive.

Ok thats understandable. We still need help in other areas.

We are still up in the air on the details. As more things get confirmed we will post an official thread in the EVENTS section.

My suggestion would be to keep it in the Cerritos area since it seems to be central to most of us and normally doesn't get too hot.

If we host it in one of the parks in Lakewood we won't even have to pay to hold the meet there and use the facilities. Other places will require a deposit just to even reserve the picnic area. In the past that has always been a problem to get people to pay a share. This place is free as long as Zuriel reserves it and its in Lakewood:

City of Lakewood, California - Bloomfield Park

Typically the best way to handle food is to have everyone bring something to share and not have one person bring everything

I would vote that we keep it on a Sunday afternoon, that would allow for the most people to attend

I'm gonna throw something way out to left field. How about we have the meet at k1speed in anaheim, they have hosted other car meets and as long as we go race then they support. Plus its more fun than everyone just standing around doing nothing.

We could also invite food trucks to come instead of barbecuing that way everyone feeds themselves.

And if we can get vendors to come it will be even more legit.

IDK, I got the idea from K.R.O.P.S blog who did it a few times with success.

That becomes alot more complicated if you host it at K1, I was trying to keep it simple.

We should just keep with your original plan

dockweiler beach... by the LAX Airport... we use to hold our lowrider car club picnics every 4th of july there... you pay your $5.00 to park and call it a day. Shit, we would even have a hop show there... We would just have to get in there early, before beach people get there... would be great...

In the valley, you have Woodley park off the 405 fwy, that's another place where we would have our 4th of july picnic. Plenty of tree's there...

We took a different direction with the meet and made it more of a nightly meet to get food and Boba

I think we should put a pin in it for now...still want to invite the NorCal guys down, but we need to do more planning.

So for the time being this is on hold.
