Last minute advice?

Last minute advice?
I'm going in tomorrow to negotiate my purchase of an LX (manual) with keyless entry, security, block heater, and splash guards. From reading the fourms so far, it looks like the best deals have MSRP with couple of accessories thrown in ($200-$300 worth). Do you agree?
Anyone have any last minute advice for a first time car buyer?
Thanks.

I just placed my order yesturday and got the dealership to throw in window tinting. (Richmond Honda)PS: I think it would be better to get a after market keyless entry/security system the system they will give you is not genuine Honda if you want that you gotta buck up a couple bucks more, plus you will get a better system cheaper. ditto on the hard sell of the paint protection etc. not worth it.

Also, which sales did you deal with?

just tinting ... When I was at the dealership you could not get close to the display FIT and I had to wait about 45 minutes to take a test drive, I thought the tinting was fair brand new model that is pretty cheap for all the extras you get standard on the car. I dealt with Ken (Not sure of his last name). I ordered the Storm grey LX (Same one as in the show room)

Be prepared to walk, better yet work email, fax and phone. if one Dealer won't budge another may. The fact is there aren't a lot of cars at the Dealers and they've just been told that the years supply is being cut by up to 24%. My main point is not to count on one dealer to sell you a car at the best price.
Good luck and don't think you have to buy a car tomorrow. Buy anywhere within a couple of hundred miles or more, service it locally.

The dealership told me the car would be here in 1 month (middle of May), I negotiated to get the window tinting to be part of the deal.(free) The dealership was full of people so my salesperson wanted to make a quick sale. I wouldn't be surprised if your car is on the same boat as mine.

Richmond Honda is the one that will not budge on prices at all. Just got a reply from their sales manager, they've sold 50 already. Whereas Happy Honda in Burnaby called and said I would have been the first one on the waiting list.
$25,000 out the door, Sport Auto Ala Silver, free cargo net (works to out to $192 off + free net)
I did not visit any dealerships. I just emailed them, and waited for a reply.

It's not Richmond Honda that won't budge..It's the demand which makes it impossible and it's Honda entry level vehicle with min Profit..
Rememebr even though 50 units means lots but they are BC 's # 1 volume dealership so they do get 5 to 6 time more units then anydealship every month.
Let me know 2 what happened ?

Are you guys waiting for my reply or something?
Perhaps I was vague, but I completed my deal 2 days ago, at the specs/price listed above. 4 dealerships called me to accept, obviously, Richmond was not one of the 4.

I am personally going to hold off on the Scotch Guard and the dealer interior protectant, the lastest studies show that those type of fluoropolymers are possible cancer agents. http://pubs.acs.org/subscribe/journa...rr_dupont.html

The FIT is to new to get any special financing or discounts, I would imagine you will have to wait a year or two to get special rates. (Unless another car maker comes out with a small car better then the FIT in the next year or two... unlikely) The best bet is to get the dealership to give you some accessories. One other item to consider with the rising gas prices the small fuel efficent cars like the FIT are going to be even more popular.

I may purchase one today, just wanted to know if anyone in the 604 area have bought them and what did they get with it. I understand there's not much of a discount, but how far have you guys got with getting accessories?
