AutoX the Fit...no pics, but great feedback

Well hopefully someone from the event took flics, but for now i want to share my experience @ my first AutoX
This was a Solo2 beginner class event that I attended and my 1st time at an autoX.
The 1st 4 runs were with an instructor and she told me that i was getting faster on every run...the course at 1st was confusing, but after 1 run i got the hang of it. We were not timed for the 1st 4 runs.

The course then was reversed and you were timed for the second half of the day.
4 runs:1st 58.7
2nd 57.8
3rd 56.4
4th 53.1 seocnds
5 seconds improvement not bad for a beginner
as i got the hang of the course on my last for runs I was able to improve my time...note my sig says whats been done to it.
The Fit felt very easy to control. Ripping around the slalom i could not feel to much body roll...the skunk2 springs held up good as they did their job making the car handle alot better than stock...i am a fast learner so when i got to know the course i just went faster on every run and it really paid off.

I felt very confident at the end and will be attending every event next year...number 1 thing for autox HAVE FUN!!!!! and the Fit is just perfect in every way...fun affordable and great for Sunday events!!!
If i am not mistaken i did not have the slowest time out there

WOW!! great.... but man I went to the solo1 (I belive it is pro solo because it is a race track) and the reack day was $75 w/o transponder, so no times. but the fit really feels great. It was pushing MADLY!! So much understeer with the stock tires that I even take a chunk out of the front right tire. It was Fast!!! there was a scion Xa with suspension upgrades including Toyo AR1 wich of course beat the hell out of me as I predicted, but it was a friendly saturday and everybody liked the Fit.

By the way nttdemented was there and took some pictures, and took a ride in one hit with me. they said that the Fit was lifting the inside rear tire , but it fells well balanced and all day composed, but for the crappy dunlops that do not like to steer!!!!

With the right tires and maybe some lowering springs, maybe then is a different story.

Cool!!!! I really wonder how Fit will do on a autox course... too bad no
one has bring one to my local autox event just yet..

I like to invite/encourage any Fit owner living in Socal to come out and
play... Autox is one of the safest way to push your car to the limit.

Here's the site of the SCCA Autox I attend regularly:

Here are some pics taken just last Sunday (12-10-06)

I saw it kick up its heels a few times. Browsed through my pics and this is the closest one I could find with the tire ALMOST in the air.

That was a fun day man. I gotta get some time to sort out the pics and send you the ones of your Fit Carlos.

I'm getting mine in a week!!!

My cousin's Xa was SMOKING higher powered cars left and right!! Then again I'm positive that a Fit with the same mods he has will spank it silly. We shall find out soon enough. Gotta hurry up though he's making his Turbo in about 2 months.

eXELLENT!! definitively the tires and suspension made the difference!!
Good that the Fit arrival date is getting closer

And I told you that the Xa was going really quik. The turns made the difference.

I bought a set os falkens for the daily drives, and looking forward to buy a good set for the track!!

Thanks for the picture

Cool vid, but holy cow that track has NO run off room! One mistake and your in the wall. Im guessing you dont have a lot of tracks to choose from in PR eh?

The no muffler sounds pretty good, esp for free

Actually it is a pretty scarring one. There are a few exit poins but I can recall if they are more dangerous.....

You have to see the motorcycles.... thats scarry.

There is another track, but this one happens to be the one making the events, and it is 10 minutes from home!!!!

And thanks for your opinion on the deleted muffler
