Time to start thinking about next months meet. March is already planned at the Kamispeed get together. Trying to give plenty of time between meets so people can call off work.

Nick mentioned trying to get away from the regular parking lot meets, not that those are bad but they do get boring at times. So, last night I was thinking about setting a track event up. No; not AutoX. DRAG STRIP!!!!

I would really like to see people at this event, it wont only be fun but I bet it would get some laughs too. Imagine like 10+ Fits at the track running 16-19sec and lookin good, what other car club can pull that off?

Downside is, its not free.

$10 per person in your car.
$15 for driver if running. (Must be 18+ to run)

Gates open at 6:30pm. Lanes close at 10pm.

Ok, LOTS of Floridian Fits need to do this for Ray. He's still suffering from the Jan. meet, and I hate to see him so miserable. Good for you Ray for gettin' back up on the horse. What would the charge be for spectators?

This was just a testing waters kinda thing. Doesnt seem like that much are interested. I normally go to the track every Wens and Fri because of my dad. He runs his truck.

 

Give it a few days - they will come (they're supposed to anyway)
Does your dad race his truck against other people or just have fun going fast safely?

 

IDK. No one showed. I dont think weather can be blamed.
The one time I took a drive for a meet no one shows. From all the posts in the thread you would think at least 10 would show.
I was happy I got pics on the beach though.

Well, no matter what you run against someone at the track. You can choose by giving the stagger a heads up before hand. Normally they randomly pick 2 cars from the 4 lanes (Lanes 3, 4, 5, 6) and wave you past.

My dad runs in lanes 1 and 2. Thats for vehicles running 13.9 and quicker. His truck ran a best of 10.9@126mph last Friday. Finally broke 10's.

Who here is in the North Florida Area??? I'm up for a meet at Jacksonville or maybe gainesville raceway after Gator Nationals. I'm new to the Fit scene, and i'm trying to be active with fellow Fit Freakers!
