Toronto auto show

On example of the Fit sport is on the floor at the Toronto show that is open for show goers to sit in and poke and prod. Seeing it in person confirms to me that, certainly in terms of space utilization, and IMHO in fit and finish, this blows away everything else available in N. Am in this size class. Should be on sale here in a couple weeks.

The magic seats really are magic. Very slick system. I dinked with a lot of folding seats at the show. These are great.

Caliber was there and open. About the same size as my Matrix, but the plastic really looks cheap, IMHO. Nitro was on display.

Nissan Versa and Sentra were at the show as well, but you could not get in them. Sentra looks better in person than in pics.

Yaris hatch is already on sale in Canada so that was open. Yaris 4 door sedan is coming to Canada, and that was on display, but was not open.

New Camry, not open. Still looks ugly to me.

Upcoming BMW Z4 coupe and Jag XK are on display.

As usual very nice selection of classics, including a very nice display of MG's of various vintages, including "old number one".

Where there any Honda Reps there so one could ask questions? I'll be there on Monday to pop the hood, crawl under the car, knock on every body panel except hotwire it and start it up.

Can you see if there is a height adjuster for the driver's seat? There is some poor 5'10" soul on Edmunds.com who says he can't fit in a Fit (post 2076). It's creating quite a flap!

My 6'2", 240lb frame, 40" waist, 45" chest, 11 1/2 Dshoe, will be sitting in every goddamn seat and in the driving position; and I will get someone to take pictures of me and post after monday when I visit the C.I.A.S.. This has to be put to rest hopefully. I will check for height adjuster, lumbar adjusters, telescopic/parscopic steering wheel etc. I will also check how close or far the accelerator and brake pedals are apart too.

show

I didn't notice a height adjuster on the seat.

Yes, a Honda rep told me it would be available first of April. Other than that, I didn't ask them anything, as show people are notoriously unreliable.

Forgot to mention, also at the show was a BMW 120D. This is the turbo diesel version of the BMW series 1, 4 door hatch. Transport Canada brings in some high mileage cars "for evaluation" and this was one of them. It is at the Transport Canada booth, not the BMW booth, along with a diesel Honda Accord wagon and a Smart fourfour.

Thanks for the photos. It's always fun to go to a car show, and hear what people have to say.

Good pics, I like the idea of the grill add on with the base model. Its is a little much with the sport model IMO.

I went to the Toronto Autoshow today. The Honda Fit was awesome, everything I expected and more. It was roomy. I sat in the passenger seat comfortably, and then sat behind myself comfortably. I'm 6'4" so it was a surprise. The magic seats are by FAR the greatest thing since sliced bread. The Fit had more room than the Caliber, which I thought would be much larger. The steering wheel felt really good quality. The buttons, upholestry and fit and finish were amazing. This has to be the best subcomapact in the world, no doubt. The car can seat five people, but the fifth has to be a child or midgit. The car has no blind spots. The seat position doesn't feel all too high. The back seats offer alota head room.. surprisingly!
I'll have pictures soon as my girlfriend is finished with it.

Not sure I'm a fan of the chrome mustache on the Fit, but then again the Civic and Ford Fusion front ends are growing on me, so I suppose this probably will as well.

Don't worry, the chrome grille will be an option. Stock Fits come clean shaven.
