Count me in again

 

Just wanted to give you guys looking to go a "heads up", there's been an over throw of the run and the "homebase" has been moved to a new location, a location right on the Dragon. The Dragon Pit Inn is the new location where everyone wants to stay. A group waited over 2 monthes and about 40 pages on Xceedspeed, the new home for the run, to change their minds and I had to go along with the group. www.xceedspeed.com is where to go for the updates, check out Dragon Run part duex for the updates. Looks like the same people are going too, so you don't have to worry there, along with noobs too, some will be noobs to the Dragon itself while others are noobs to their run. The part duex thread was started by someone else, so not sure how complete it is but its there.

I hope this doesn't keep any of you from going, infact, some of you are already on Xceedspeed already. This forum showed up HUGE last year and when it comes time closer to the run, I expect to see alot of you guys out there. BTW, the new location needs 1 day rent (about $70.00) to hold a room and IS refundable if you cancel before 30 days, sorry, this isn't like Caney Creek where our word is gold, sorry, this isn't my deal anymore, just wanted to pass the important info along to you.

Dragon Pit Inn details
call 865-253-3566 or 865-253-3565 to make your reservation. It is run by a husband and wife couple. They know the dates we will be there and everybody can call on their own to reserve their own room. They will charge one night's stay to hold the room $74.21 ($64.95+tax). If you cancel at least 30 days before you get your money back. Tell them you are with the group "Roger from Deetroit." We will get a 10% discount if we rent 6 or less rooms and a 15% discount if we rent more than 6 rooms. They will calculate the discount and give it to us when we show up. Have any of you guys looking to go made your resevations at the new place yet? Sorry about needing to pre-pay for 1 day to reserve a room but seeing as everyone insisted on staying near the Dragon that's the way it is this year. It IS refundable if you cancel within 30 days though The one good thing about this place is that its 10 miles away from the actual Dragon's end, so you'll be there in no time, so we'll see how that works itself out when we get down there.

 

I'm down for the Gap run in October, and have a few planned for this summer. I just finished my 2011 Fit Sport. I don't know how to upload pics yet, and will have a list of my mods soon, hope to get some friends from here to drive with, and hope to jion in the conversations.

Don't forget about the new spot where we're staying, wasn't exactly my choice but I was over ruled. Some may actually like it, its 10 miles down the road from the Dragon, on route 129, closer to route 411.

Texted you Saturday, Roger. I was at the Shell beside Pancho's and sent a pic. Getting my fill of the Dragon this year. Think that was my 5th or 6th trip in the last 2 months lol.

I have a trip planned for this week, Thursday-Saturday. I hope the weather holds out. It's a long trip from Chicago area. Hope to see someone down there.

 

I'll probably be down there Saturday if the weather looks good. It changes in a heartbeat though in the mountains.

 

I know I posted this a couple pages back but I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm going to make a new thread for this run due to the fact that we've got a new location where we're staying this year (kinda out of my control) The thread will be called 2012 Fall Dragon Run part duex! Once I make this thread, I will ask that this one be closed so there's no confusion. I want the FF community to show up like last year and really wanna make sure you guys know what's going on for sure

Nice pics, hes wearing that spot out for some reason. Sat there and talked with him for a couple hours when I was down there about a month ago. Heading down early friday, can't wait.
