Hankook new r-comp

Hankook Tire just released a new tire and I was thinking about picking up a set for Road Racing. Has anyone heard of these tires or have any reviews?

I read up on them on World Time Attack and apparently they have been killer in Japan and Australia on a RX-7.

From what I read they are D.O.T. street legal semi slicks with 80 treadwear.

Sizes are kind of like RS-3 and pricing doesnt look too bad.

195/55R15
215/45R17
225/45R17
255/40R17
235/40R18
265/35R18
285/30R18
295/30R18

I'm hoping with the cheaper price of the Korean tires and a few more Japanese using them mostly due to cost and not actual performance gains that it will some how make Yokohama and Bridgestone lower their prices. In honesty though, when I go out on circuit here the tire I see more often than not is the Advan A050, still unavailable stateside, at least not easily.

I thought about picking up a set to throw on my MF10Ls to compare against the A050s I already have on the other circuit wheels. The pricing definitely makes them attractive but a lack of decent sizes 205/50R15 or 225/50R15 or any 16s kind of blows. Don't really want a 195/55R15, but still thinking about giving them a go.

uh oh... no 225 15"s?! :sigh:

I'm trying out a set of 205 width Z214 slicks in the C71 soft compound and so far I like 'em, but I run RS-3s for my class in SCCA Solo. I'd have to have a 225 width available if I were going this route. 195 is just so skinny

I guess it's going to compete with R888s and NT01s
