Write off!!!

well here it goes, happened during a big cruise organised by one of the local traders on a local forum.. the route was from belfast to portrush via a coastal route, to take in the scenery etc..

basically came to a stop along one of the roads and next thing i new an ek civic hit the back of me which then i hit the r33 skyline in front.. the guy in the civic was an R plate driver, maybe wasnt paying much attention or the roads were slippy, either way it was all his fault, no excuses, and all the witnesses there to prove..

here r some of the pics of my car only, not for the faint hearted...

Man, that sucks! Hopefully the damage can be fixed within a few days...Glad you're okay, that's the most important thing.

im not sure wats happening with it yet to be honest.. have to wait for the insurance company to have a look and assess the damage before i can decide on wat to do.. its possible that its fixable, but cant tell until we start stripping off the panels and check out if the chassis is damaged...

OOUCH!!!

Sorry to hear about the accident mate

I can only see the rear pictures but it "just" looks like the bumper and boot?

Keep us posted with any developments and if you plan to strip the car (interested in the front and rear H badge ;p )

yea im absolutely gutted.. the front needs, bonnet, bumper, possibly one wing where it has pushed onto the door and radiator.. not burst but bent, i drove it nearly 100 miles like this before leaving it off at a bodyshop.. shows the wee jazz is tougher than it looks..

as for the car, i have to wait to c wat the insurance says, if it can be fixed economically or write it off.. but i dont no if i want to have it anymore, no sense of security in the car that has been in an accident, tho i do still luv it to bits.. possibly another GD or a GE, time will tell.. if not, expect a lot of parts to be posted up in the near future.. garyman already has dibs on the badges, haha...

The worst they could do is not cover your mods. I asked my insurance company how they would handle a claim that involved damage to modded parts of the car and for me they offered supplemental insurance that covers parts and labor for the mods on top of the car value so I carry that for about $22 extra every six months (covers my intake, side moldings, paintjob on OEM wheels, tint, I'll be adding my body kit and future mods...no limitations except $50,000 maximum supplemental coverage...they'll cover anything you ask for), but since you didn't declare them they only have to restore the car to OEM, of course--excluding all modifications.

tekxoid.. im glad thats the way they do it america, but over here some insurance companies do not cover cars with modifications.. so if u dont declare them, they have the rite to void ur insurance altogether so u mite as well not have bought it in the 1st place...

Mate that sucks big time!

Haven't been on the forum for a while as I've recently sold my Jazz, just thought I'd check back and found this!

The insurance issue is definitely a b*tch... I hope for your sake they'll still cover you despite the mods... I had my policy with Direct Line who refuse to insure anyone under 25 (or 21..) who has ANY mods at all (not cool)

Good luck with the sale of the parts mate, any ideas what you're going to replace the Jazz with?
