oem car cover
my fit sits outside all day long.
im thinking about getting a car cover for it.
does anyone have the oem car cover?
its pricey, but is it worth it?
what about aftermarket ones?
whats the best outdoor car cover?

I believe that the OEM cover is not meant to see weather - i.e. garage dust cover only. I have the OEM cover for my S2000 and it's a very nice cover, worth every penny. But if you want a weatherproof one, you need to go aftermarket. I'm sure someone will chime in with a recommendation.

I disagree with Jonas. I bought the OEM cover on Ebay for about $153.00 and feel that it is well worth the price. Extremely heavy duty, fits perfectly, and I believe that it will last quite a long time. However, I don't intend to use my cover in the rain because around here once it gets wet, I have no place to hang it for drying. It will stay wet all winter. I mainly want to keep sap from my redwood trees and dirt off the paint, and redwood twigs off the windshield and out of the vents.
Before buying this cover, I studied the catalog ads for most brands of aftermarket covers and found no evidence of higher quality being available, but also found a lot of higher prices.
Good luck-

The issue is that the OEM cover (unless Honda changed it since I last looked) is not waterproof. The aftermarket has weatherproof covers. It's not good to have a big, wet rag sitting on your car, which is what happens with the OEM one. It's not better quality that's available in the aftermarket, just different capabilities, intended for a different purpose.

OK guys,
I've seen the ads for the "weatherproof" and "waterproof" covers, and even if those descriptions are accurate, they will still be absolutely wet after a rainstorm, just as a cheap plastic tarp would be. Unless you park next to an oil refinery or coal mine (or park and work IN them), what damage is rain going to do to your car? When you are all dressed to leave for work in the morning, aren't you going to mess yourself up removing a WET "weatherproof/waterproof "$300.00 cover?
The $150.00 OEM cover is meant for outdor use and suits my needs to keep crap off the car in dry weather. You are certtainly free to do and spend whatever you want, but the most practical protection method would be to spend 3 times the cost of a "waterproof/weatherproof" cover which will still wear out anyway, and instead buy a pipe-frame sheet metal roofed U-assemble car port from Home Depot.
Good luck--
