Changing Battery on 2013 Honda Fit - Last Time it Was Disconnected It Messed Stuff Up
Hey guys. I brought my car in for an oil change a couple months ago and when I got it back the dash was all effed up, couldn't use anything on it. Apparently they disconnected the battery to do the oil change and that causes the car to go into anti theft mode where it locks the radio. It took forever to fix but thankfully a dealership was able to give me a code to fix it. Of course I've misplaced this code.
My husband has to change the battery today (other issues with car that we're trying to figure out and we have a new battery so figured we will swap them)
Is there a way to change the battery that it won't start the anti theft system and require a code?
Thanks!

It must be the radio code, everything on there just turns right off and can't be used. I've tried a few dealerships and no one will give me the code until I physically go in and provide ownership. I live 1.5 hours from the nearest Honda dealer so...
They say I should have a radio code in the vehicle as it was given when purchased originally but I'm the second owner and I have never been able to find it.
Are they generic codes? Does anyone have one for a 2013 Honda Fit?
I really don't want to drive 3 hours round trip to get this fixed (the car isn't working for a different reason so I can't even drive it anywhere right now)

You'll need the radio code and the car's VIN number. VIN number is easy, it's printed on lots of things but the easiest is looking at the plate in the windshield from the outside (driver side, stand near the mirror and look at the base of the windshield). The device serial number is slightly harder. Turn the car to run, press AND hold buttons 1 and 6 and turn the radio on. The radio should cycle between two screens, with the letter U and 4 digits, them four digits and the letter L. Write down the numbers, ignore the letters.
on the inside of the glove box there should be a little sticker. Sitting in the driver seat open the lower box and on the outside of the compartment itself should be a little label. If it's not there another alternative is going to Honda's website here: https://radio-navicode.honda.com/
