2008 Headliner Removal

Does anyone have any tips or better yet pictures of removing the headliner. I really want to add some soundproofing to the roof but I am scared that I'll blow up an airbag or something. Is there any way to get around removing the pillars?

Well....sorta...

I have been looking in the '07 service manual (should be identical to '08 with regards to this) and among other things the pillars (A,B, and C) are to be removed. they have directions for all of the removal of parts...but there is so much info my computer and or image service would slap me silly before it would allow me to post it.

I would suggest getting the service manual, they are not that expensive, or get those CD versions of the manual, those are even cheaper.

I too am very weary of moving things in and around the airbags, but it does not seem that easy on this car to avoid them. The headliner is a rather thick single piece and if it bends it will permanently crease. Which is one of the reasons why you should remove the pillar trim.

I wish I could post something more helpfull, but I guarantee that the service manual pays for itself in terms of help and understanding alone.

If I can find a better way to give you info I will...
Take it easy and good luck...

billmus86- looks like good info thanks...more stuff to pass along...

runbikerun- when you get the service manual... just keep in mind that some stuff isnt that intuitive to find (but it is probably there). Mostly it is indeed easy to find stuff...but sometimes its hiding in peripheral topics.

The manual has sooooo much info it spoils you and you will want even more ...you will constantly find out interesting things...

Ohh...one more thing....

Maybe post where you found it at as there are diff places to get the manual...
I got mine off of ebay from...Faxon (auto literature)
or go to their site type in www faxonautolit . com
when I went to the dealer (parts department) they gave me a number to order it from...but I knew it would be well over a hundred...couldnt afford that so I went elsewhere.

my 01 Civic coupe manual when it was new was like 300 but when the guy told me that I passed on it...never got it ...I know they go down in price quick though.

I got my manual from Faxon. They got it to me practically overnight. I can definitely get into some projects now.
