My factory installed front bumper lip - ripped of!

someone jacked the oem lip off the front bumper of my 07. awesome. i've ordered a new one (not interested in aftermarket, just want the standard) but it's still unclear to me which and how many bolts i'll need to attach. the part seems to come with some clips but the bolts need to be ordered separately, yeah? any help?

tim

also, i'm ordering from this site which includes an image of the diagram:

Honda Automotive Parts

to make it easy, anyone that can help can point out which bolts i'd need by referring to the illustration number. any help is much appreciated.

In order to remove the front lip properly you have to take off the front bumper. How did they do this without popping the hood?

Once those 4 screws come off the sides you can rip the lip off. It can still be mounted to another car. Just not as secure.
Theres a few posts about Fit owners and the OEM lips being stolen. World of Hondas.

Were the brakets still on the bumper? Sitting in those pre cut holes?
If not you may need a new front bumper and lip as a whole.

I cant tell what you need based on that drawing.

ahh that is horrible. so it's a possibility that some base fit owners are stealing from sport fit owners right? let's all be friends.

man, this is old news in here. Fits are the new targets for custom-body tuners around here. They are stealing the front lips, then do some sort of modifications to it, like extending it or shortening it, then apply it to other cars. ive heard it fits on older civics, not sure what models/year...

The lips fit on Tercels, once you turn them upside down. Look kinda nice too.

GOne in 2 minutes

Not that I condone this type of activity, but when I was younger, i ripped off a 5gen Honda Civic front spoiler in less than 2 minutes in a parking lot mall...I save all the bolts, but the nuts I left behind...

I saw the target car... parked my car behind it...put the blinkers on..and did my work...

I looked at the fit...its pretty much the same...

One thing you can do is change all the bolts with allen heads or torx...

i wasn't surprised to see it gone, honda never fails to live up to its reputation for this kinda stuff...

so is it simple enough to replace? the holes in the middle are slightly damaged, but i feel like i can still work with them..

what brackets should i be looking for?

more stolen body parts...

hey friends. so a quick update:

i replaced the front bumper lip without too much trouble, not long after my first post. everything was fine for several months, but last night I had the front lip taken again, as well as the rear. it's the neighborhood that my girlfriend lives in. bummer.

anyway, someone mentioned replacing the bolts with allen or torx heads, but has anyone else worked out a clever way to keep these from getting stolen? different bolts make me nervous because even though it sucks that my lips are disappearing, when they're ripped off the actual bumpers aren't getting too badly damaged making replacement pretty simple. fit catch 22.

any ideas?

You can always upgrade to an aftermarket alarm system with some sort of proximity detection and a 2 way paging system. Then hopefully you can disrupt the person in the act. Right now they know that you are an easy target and they should keep coming back.

i know of a way the lip will never come off you can use a little bit of glue called marine tec you can get it at your local boat repair store. this glue does not break at all if mixed properly. i should know i work in a body shop.
