n00b mistake...need help

So I started the install on my Depo Smoke/Red LED tails last night. While removing one of the three nuts from inside that hold the tail lamp on the car, my fingers slipped and I dropped the socket and the nut down into the air well below the tail lamp.

How can I fish this thing out?

Ya...I know...lololol roflcopter lmaonade

You can get extend magnet pens at Autozone and the like. They're for situations exactly like this.

Or, got a shop vac? Get a piece of smaller hose, something about an inch diameter and rig it up so you get suction and try to suck up the socket. Those magnet's are great except when tryin to reach down into an area that's all steel....they tend to get stuck someplace along the way.

You can also find long flex' 'grabbers'

ya I tried the magnet, just got stuck along the way.

I've disovered though that when the nut fell off it actually fell into the space between the spare tire well and the outer chassis/frame/whatever of the car.

Basically it's gone for good I think. I guess I can probably just get another one from a hardware store or something right?
