Fuel Gauge reading FULL!!

I have a 07 model with about 6000 miles and last filled the tank with fuel on the 11 august completely full. I done the same journeys no more and no less and have done about 70 miles, but the fuel gauge is still reading full?

I know the Jazz is good on fuel but not that good

Luckly its still under warranty so I am going to take it to the dealer soon and see what they say.

In the mean time anyone else had this problem?

no problem

That's not a problem but an idiosyncrasy of the fit's gas tank. Most cars do the same thing but, I believe, the fit does it worse due to it's long filler neck (tank under seat). the early portions of the tank always seem to last longer.

My Fuel Gauge stays on "FULL" for about two days before I see it moving down and I drive about 230 miles a week

My experience is the tank stays on full for about 2 gallons and it stays on E (gas light on) for about two gallons. between empty and full is a range of about 6 - 7 gallons in the middle.

If you fill it REALLY full and then tailgate a semi at 55 mph, you can go 200 miles before that needle moves... don't ask. Just know. Normally I get 30-45 miles with our touchy gas pumps in CA that turn off quickly.

Stop filling the tank when the pump first clicks off (like you're supposed to ) and this problem will magically disappear.

its normal...

and i know you guys are joking but you never know the age of the poster...recommending drafting to somebody who might not know your joking is not a good idea. they could easily look up how to do it, how it works and try it for themself and get really hurt or harm others.

Just to keep you updated

Ive now done about 160 miles and the fuel gauge now reads 3/4 full

Im waitin for the gauge to read half and then fill up so I can see if the gauge is faulty or not.

Don't worry too much about it. It's possible to put another 3 or 4 gallons into the Fit's gas tank after the first click-off. If you do this the gauge will stay at or above full for a loonnnnggggg time. Here is a thread over on cleanmpg.com with a whole lot of details.

wdb is right. You need to remember that the Fit fuel gauge is not linear. 1/2 tank on the gauge means nothing at all.

Great news!!!!

The fuel gauge is ok

I just filled with the needle showing half a tank and all I could get in was half a tank

Also that half tank gave me 49mpg, the best I have ever had!!
