Stereo Install

Okay so i have a new stereo coming and have questioned myself on the ability to install it. I have installed tons of stereos before, but not in a fit. I have searched high and low here for the DIY on it but have yet to discover it.

If anyone can do the DIY, or has it already done, I would appreciate it.

From what i've read and could see from the wrench meet, you only have to worry about the standard things...wire harness, dash kit and the ability to stay calm. haha.

I don't think there is a single dash kit avail on the market currently that fits properly without modification. So be warned you will most likely have gaps etc, unless you go in and fix it after you install and see whats wrong.

Good luck though! I have an alpine sitting here from my old camry just waiting to be installed once a good dash kit shows up. haha.

yeah, when i bought the stereo it is comming with the metra kit and the wiring harness. I will be ditching that for the scosche kit. I just like the looks of the scosche far better. if anyone is looking for a metra kit, i will have one with wiring harness for a pretty decent price.

i am basically looking for key spots for screws and such. I know on my integras and civics, those were very straight forward and easy to find. the fit, not so much from what i can see.

So how did everything work out? Any tips to give to those that are trying? Any before and after pictures?

check post dates. 6 years.

searching fitfreak is actually easier if you uses google and filter the domain to fitfreak

O, I did both. I saw the date and hoped someone would have posted something up to now and that was after I did a search on here. I guess it's worth a shot doing google and fitfreak. I would have thought a simple search on this forum was enough.

most car forums have pretty terrible search ability unless you know exactly what to type.

I find it far easier to use google and limit web domains in filters and go from there.
