Yes that is what I am going to do. Just talked to one of my son's friends which is a Honda mechanic and he says when they use a torque wrench they torque to 32 ft lbs! The wrenchs are preset. He says sometimes they don't use a torque wrench but ALWAYS use new washers.

It just felt like I was stripping the threads at 23 ft lbs can't imagine setting to 32 ft lbs. I showed him the manual that says 29 ft lbs and he says we torque ALL the Honda drain bolts with new washers to 32 ft lbs. WOW

maybe there's something wrong with your torque wrench.

Either get it checked or try another one
