I've done it, just put them back in the other day. Definately should have taken some pictures, but it is extremely easy. Just some bolts.

Anybody who's done it:

Have you weighed the seats to see how much you've freed up?

That converts to about 66 lbs, not bad actually. Also gives me an excue to not drive anymore than one other person around.

The thing is too is that if I absolutely HAVE to put them back in, it's not hard and doesn't take long.

The only downside I find is that it doesn't cover your whole boot / trunk space, so if you park in dodgy areas and have a lot of valuables in the back, it is a little worrying.

yea, 4 bolts and they're out.
lol, don't expect to not be giving rides to more than 1 person...it turns into everyone just chillin in the back where the seats should be...figured it's better to keep em in lol.

The only problem with this is the fact that the two outer-most bolts are not shielded from the outside elements on the underside of the car; I had been taking my rear seats out on occasion whenever i needed to maintain better gas mileage, but the two outside bolts and their holes in the car's body have started to rust rather badly... No idea how to fix/prevent this...

Could you reinstall only the bolt? Or another bolt that is a bit shorter?

FITFOLLY: I'll take pics tomorrow... I just removed both rear seats and nearly all my interior body panels because I have to re-seal the plastic rain seals on each door so I don't have a damned lake on the floor of my rear seats every time it rains.

Daleb: I could get another bolt, I suppose, but it's more the fact that Honda should have guarded the bolts somehow. Same goes for the rear seat-belt anchor bolts, they go right through the body into the rear wheel-wells... I'm waiting to see rust build up on them, too.

FLFIT239: Because I usually leave the rear seats installed? I mean, I'm all for lighter weight, better gas mileage, better acceleration... but it sucks if I need to drive more than ONE other person somewhere. prime example; sometimes I arrive late at my friends' place and I'm the only one not drunk or high yet, thus I'm the only person who can drive people somewhere... kinda sucks when you only have a seat for 1 passenger... Besides, I don't have the room to store my rear seats inside anywhere; too much hassle.
