Exclamation PLEASE HELP!! I messed up

I was trying to syphon oil from my car through the dipstick hole. I was doing this using a pumping device purchased at wal-mart. The small black tube broke as I was taking it out of the dipstick hole. Is there any kind of device that I can use to remove it?

im not sure, but maybe you could use a "flexible grabber tool"

24", Flexible Claw Grabber Pickup Tool ,Release Plunger & Claw Picks U

they have them at hardware stores, maybe put it down the dip stick hole and it might be able to grab the tube thats in there.

first and foremost, wtf were you doing siphoning oil through the dipstick hole for?

i would try to use one of these if the tube (inside) is relatively close to the entrance.

My gawd. What where you trying to do?

Before you get anymore great ideas have it towed to dealer so they can drop the oil pan and get the piece out. Another idea is to just start it up and let the crank beat it to pieces and then drain through the oilpan. There is a drain plug there just for this purpose. This is what you should have done in the first place.

What a mess =) I should have been much more careful when extracting the tube. I had used this method before when the dealership put to much oil in. I need to look into getting a better jack for next time.

I have not been able to remove it. I intend to have it towed tomorrow. However, I'm thinking that this could void my warranty. Does anyone know if it will?

If you have not driven it it should not void wty.

What were you trying to do this time?

It is going to be an expensive do it yourself though. Good luck.

Is it possible to extract something through the oil filter hole?

If you have an air compressor you could possibly force air into the engine by removing the oil cap placing the end of an air hose in the oil fill hole, shop towels to seal it off to maintain pressure and have someone hook the opposite end of the hose to the compressor with the tank pressure at 20 lbs or so and just up the pressure if needed to blow it out...... You might get kind of messy but if it works and I was you it would be fine with me.

What if you used a wet vacuum with a small extender attachment?

Just an idea?

And then refill your car with oil of course.

dont get it towed. just take out the tube. its super simple. there is a 10mm bolt holding the dipstick tube in place. once that is out, just pull on the tube and it will come right out. the broken piece should be sitting right there. if not, then somehow it slid into the oil pan and you need to take that off to get it out.

also, in the future, dont be ghetto. just buy some ramps instead of a pump so you can properly drain your oil instead of this half brain lame shit. you have created more work for yourself by cutting corners.

That is good advice. I have considered taking the dipstick tube out to. The problem is that I can't reach it. It's covered. How do I get to it, without removing other parts?

you should be able to reach the bolt from the top. if not, taking your front bumper off is not hard. two phillips head screws on each side and a mess of plastic clips. then pull, push down the splash guard and lay down. you will see the bolt right there.

i just ran out to my car and touched the bolt from the top tho. its not rocket science.

Well written. Half lame brain shit - lol but so true eh. But then I remember way back when I had no money and trying to do stuff on the cheap. I messed up a lot them too... and still do occasionally

Excellent idea on removing the dipstick tube. This should save him big bucks.

I took my car into the dealership, and had the tube removed without damage to my car or warranty.
