Unstable idle
I was leaving the house to go to work today, and as I started my car, I noticed that the engine shot up to 2k RPM and then came back down to 1k.
Then as I started driving, I noticed that any time I had my foot off the gas, the idle would steadily fluctuate between 1k and 2k RPM. The A/C was off, so I know it wasn't that.
I now have a check engine light and the engine continues to idle. Sometimes it will stabilize at 2k RPM, but if I touch the clutch or the gas, it starts going back and forth again.
Any ideas what this could be?
I did a quick check of vacuum lines and my EGR tubing after I parked. All seems ok.
I'm thinking I might need a new MAP sensor?
What are your thoughts? TYIA

That could be a tough one to find... you may need to have Honda look at it or, get the service manual and track the vacuum paths, or stand at the engine and physically vise-grip the lines to see if you can make the idle change. I can't see how you would have cracked the intake manifold... that's really tough to do.

LOL
Anyone know or have a diagram of the vaccuum paths in the L15?
0507 is "idle speed greater than expected" probably caused by the 2279 code. I have been steadily chucking the 0507 since modifying the crap out of my OE mani about six weeks ago. I know mine is caused by a small leak near the TB...

I think the reason that there are always cracks is because they don't make any form of support for the upper manifold. Add the weight of the throttle body and the intake, along with the high temperatures and SHITTY welding...they're just begging for stress fractures.
Awhile back I was going to buy a WR manifold from Felix that was leaking but missed out because PayPal was slow setting up an account for me and it got sold to someone else.... Somehow WR read the thread and they posted on it acknowledging that there was a problem with the early manifolds and to send it back..... Felix told the guy that he had sold it to someone else and they told him to have the guy send it back and he would get a new one in return, they didn't want the bad ones out there.

I'd like to have something to show them, just in case they try to give me the runaround.
