Thanks!
Looks like the right manual. Do yo have a 2008? If not, just buy the 2007 manual which is still listed at $75.

Yeah, I've got an 08 BBP Sport that I picked up a week ago, and not knowing what's different between the 07 and 08 I figured I'd better stick with the correct manual. It won't hurt me to wait a bit and see if the price comes down a bit over the next month or two, but I need to pull a door panel and I wanted to see how much trouble that was going to be. Some sort of adhesive is getting on to the inside of the window, and I just got the windows tinted so I don't want to mess up the tint...

The only difference between 07's and 08's is that the 08's have different windshield wipers and the TPMS.

First post, guys!

Far far away from any trusty dealership, and so I will need to do most of my own maintenance and bolt-in/out repairs.

Where can I freeload a repair manual for a 1.5 CVT Jazz/Fit? Specs will be slightly different from both Japan and US but pretty close is better than none.

Appreciate any leads, thanks - can PM me if you prefer.

Buy the print version from Helm. Access to the on-line manual has been sketchy and intermittent, and if you need repair info., with the book you don't need a computer to get it.

Your mechanic in the photo certainly straight out of GQ, but nobody looks good after an hour or two doing mechanical work on a car.

Fair enough. Let me find out just how different my GCC spec Jazz is before buying the US spec manual.

prossett,

In my my last post I meant to say that your mechanic is certainly NOT straight out of GQ. I ordered my Helm service manual from information about the Helm manual printed in the back of my Fit Owner's Manual printed by Honda USA and furnished with the car from the dealer. I realize that you didn't buy your Jazz from Honda USA, but there might be a different shop manual and source mentioned somewhere in the fine print at the back of YOUR owner's manual, assuming that UAE Honda's are furnished with owner's manuals at all. If not, the after-market manual for the USDM Fit would probably be better than nothing. Good luck!

Yeah, I got the owner's manual, though it keeps saying "for some models" and basically shows every possible option on a Fit. No info on ordering a proper repair manual.

If it helps other members, I did find a free online manual for 2002 1.4 CVT HERE complete with diagrams so it's pretty good. I only wish it was for newer models and the 1.5 VTEC.

By the way, the mechanic above really is considered one of the best - he works for a performance garage, mostly 4x4.

I still want my own manual...

Did you buy the manual from helm? I have an 08 sport and the price is a bit high. does it give you a scheduled maintance break down on your mileage?

I got my 08 manual from Helms a couple months back. I WAS expensive - like $125 vs. $75 for the 06 Pilot manual I got at the same time, and I think they're basically combining the 07 and 08 Fits now. You may still be able to get an 07 manual for $75 though. No TPMS in the 07 manual, and I've heard that the wiper system is different somehow.

The downloadable manual has a selection for type 3 or type 4 engine, 1.3 or 1.5L displacement. the Type 4 is the USDM version for the engine since it already incorporates the electronic throtle control system (Drive-by-wire throttle). It also includes the electrical diagrams for both types for the GDs.

With the crash of my '07, and a new GE8 as replacement, I have a Helm '07 Fit Service manual for sale. Will advertise in the classifieds soon. PM if interested.

Question on Service Manual

Alternatively, you can loan the manual to your local auto service person and he can easily perform the A&B services when required.
Where did you get the Service Manual.. I'd like to pick up a copy...

The 08 manual is about $125, iirc. That one hurt a little bit, but I think it's a great resource.
