Question for the pros
Question for the pros
I have an '09 Sport in Black and it's my first black car. I am quickly learning how difficult it is to keep a black car clean after all these years of thinking I knew how to detail a vehicle.
My issue is with swirl marks and primarily light scratches on the hood only. They are not deep scratches as they cannot be felt with a finger nail and with as much as I've (unsuccessfully) tried, I'd have to guess the scratches are underneath the clear coat, albeit I don't see how that could be possible.
I've tried everything on my hood from (my favorite) Finish 2001, to Maguires Dupli Color, to Turtle Wax's Scratch Remover to no avail. All I have now is the smoothest, cleanest, nicest smelling, scratched up hood in Fitlandia.
Can anybody please recommend a way of removing them? I have waxed the vehicle many times and the only place I have an issue is with the hood, so I don't believe it can be an issue with my method of cleaning. I know I am being anal as the scratches cannot be seen outside my garage and in the sunlight but with the car in my garage and under the florescent lights, one may as well have taken a can of spray paint and "tagged it". It is the bad in my anal opinion.
Tips? Advise?
Thanks in advance.
