$8 plastidip mod

apply and peel at will... from simple temporary paint mod to protecting from rock chips

the last time I used these things were when they were still in cans to be painted with a brush or just dip and now they have them in spray... LOVE IT!!!

yes it can without ruining anything at all but it's always wise to test first. like the thread insists... make sure to apply at least 3-4 layers of coat thick. thicker the better and don't skimp.

+rep for a great find! i was going to try vinyl wrapping the roof/hood of my EF but i may try the plastidip method instead.

thats pretty cool! Always seen this stuff at the store but never thought of how to use it. So during removal, you just peel it off like vinyl?

vinyl use adhesives hence leaving residue. plastidip can be removed by just simply peeling it off. hands are the only tools you need to remove it and leaves no sticky residue.

Huh. Can't really think of any use on the Fit, but my Alfa GTV6's bumpers, engine bulge and ground effects might look pretty sweet in black satin. I wonder if the pastidip would smooth over the texture on those plastic pieces? (that would be a good thing) Could also save me from having to sandblast my Campagnolos! Some smokey gray wheels would look nice on that car...

This is an excellent alternative for people who want to do the RS style rear end with the lower part blacked out. Comes time to sell the car, it goes completely back to stock. Personally, I would never by a car that has been spray painted and unless it was really old. I'm not sure who else would either.
