Can anyone tell me if a Cylinder head gasket for a US 2007 Honda Fit will fit in the engine of a 2001 Honda Fit From Japan? From all my research it seems that they have the same engine so the parts should be interchangeable but the part numbers are slightly different. 12251-PWA-J01 for the Japan and 12251-PWC-J01 for the US. Please let me know.

 

Most of the manufacturers have a hotline you can call for tech help, TRW or others, you might be able to get help there,, most likely its the thickness of the gasket, is the JDM engine higher or lower compression.. ??

 

Different codes are for different caratteristics so I would avoid.

 

From my research, it seems that the JDM engine is slightly higher in compression. 10.8:1 as opposed to 10.4:1 in the US model.

 

If you Google the part numbers you can get pictures of them. They look a little different.
