magic eraser

I was cleaning a surplus of bugs off the front of my Fit today, and tried a "magic eraser" sponge with lots of water and soap. It seemed to do wonderfully. Other abrasive sponges have scratched the clear coat on cars before, so I dreaded seeing the finish when it was dry. But when dry, it really looked great. I'm sure it could scratch the surface if used dry, or excessively, but this really helped me get week old dried bugs off the bumper and hood. Here's a link to the wikipedia article about the foam used in the product. I'm not pushing the product. I actually used a generic version.

Any comments or experience by others?
