Hi, i'm thinking of going to the dohc version of Fit engine.
just wondering if i can use the 6 speed manual gearbox of my ge8 rs to a Gk5 rs automatic engine?

You guys got 6 speed GE8s and DOHC GK5s?? We never get cool stuff.

Why not use a 6 speed GK5 trans?

 

Actually op can just use the whole l15b 6s manual version from GK5 RS JDM spec but maybe he opted to use 6s manual from l15 GE for his own rease. But for me, maybe i will execute the same idea Because it is expensive. If op is living the same place as me, it will cost about 3-4k usd for the whole engine (which is about 6x minimum wage here, it fucking expensive)

 

Technically... The GE8 RS's 6MT is the same as the GK5's just with a different clutch housing attached to the transmission case.

Add to that, you'll more than likely need to find a manual engine oil pan for the GK engine just to get everything to bolt together.

This isn't even thinking about finding/making mounts or making/converting the wiring harness for the swap either.
