engine mounts from innovative

hello fellow fitfreaks,

Just wanted to post a thread on this for informative purposes. In the coming months check out Welcome to Innovative Mounts for a full replacement mount kit for the A/T fit.

I am working with them on this. Just ordered OEM mounts from collegehillshonda (200.00 for the set of 3). expensive i know but innovative will not be charging me for the new ones. They are really great. I will receive the OEM ones next week then ship em to them. When they get em it will be about 2 weeks turnaround hopefully. They will use their CAD machine to make copies and they have their own urethane factory.

Here's what i am getting:

Side mount - 60A urethane in blue.
Rear mount - 75A urethane in blue
A/T tranny mount - 60A urethane in blue.

They will have 2 kits:

1)powder coated steel (which is what i am getting because it is the quickest turnaround)

2) billet anodized - will take time to make but they said they will send them to me to swap out when they are done.

You can also pick your choice of colored urethane and the the strength (supposedly in the works).

I'll keep everyone posted. No ETD for me.

Heyyy, where's the my credit to getting you to do this??? lol

Innovative is good shit.

Here's an install/review/pics from an RSX. (very similar to the Fit, and all Honda's)
Innovative Mounts, install and review - Club RSX Message Board

Powdercoated steel

Billet

The steel kit will include the billet piece in the middle. They stopped using the steel piece for durability reasons.

Just wanted to give everyone an update. Innovative has received the OEM mounts i sent today! They are going to start development tomorrow. Tim at innovative said they are going to redesign the side mount due to poor design from a performance standpoint. I am so excited!!!

As soon as i get them i'll put up some pics.

Is the primary reason on these just to reduce the amount of vibration transmitted from the engine to the chassis? Are there other benefits to this mod?

Solid motor mounts on a front wheels drive car can reduce wheel hop. I see this as a nice mod for a swapped motor, but I have a hard time seeing its benefits on a Fit with a stock motor, no matter the amount of bolt on's. I could be wrong but they do look super...I have had them on my cars but they made a little more power than my Fit.

The other benefit is that the stock rubber mounts usually wear out quickly and are marginal at best for securing the engine.

They look great though. Let us know how the vibration is.

i have experienced wheel hop on several occasions, especially in the rain. And i would think that these mounts will get more power to the wheels. I have an A/T and hopefully after installing them the 25% power loss from crank to wheels will be reduced significantly.

Understandable...The power loss though, while I may be wrong, would come from the transmission itself. Usually there is about 15% or so in a manual car versus the higher in the automatic. That is usually because of the rotating mass and the actual tranny and convertor in the auto.

I am not knocking them by any means. I think they are fine pieces. I do NOT miss the vibration though from my previous cars. I am remaining very mild with this car.

Good luck bro.

yeah i would have liked to get a manual but no luck. I am not versed in the innerworkings of transmissions but i do think that i will notice a much smoother throttle response and faster accelleration.

Vibration is not an issue for me but we'll see how it is once they are in.

Solid Mounts are one of thoes steps IMO that drops the Daily Driver feel quite a bit.

Startup, the dash vibrates, any items in the car vibrate, the Hood vibrates, everything vibrates, lol, but it does put the power down smooth as hell.

these mounts are made to be street, daily driver friendly. the 65A grade is perfect for the street, and very minimal vibrations.

yes they will rattle/vibrate. theres always a compromise with modding. sometimes you have to give up creature comforts for better engine response.

oh believe me im the last person you gota tell that too, i just would hate for somebody on here to pick them up install them and then get mad because there daily driver sounds like a cement mixer or something.

My daily driver has no interior, no heat, no ac, no anything, 2 seats, a gauge cluster and a radio.

while i am sure they will cause some vibration how much is all speculation at this point! When i get them and install them i will let everyone know exactly the difference.
