the weight of the Fit's stock hood is VERY light already. The cost of a CF hood doesnt justify for weight saving purposes. But you can do it for looks.

With any CF hood, i would recommend some kind of hood pins. Whether the ricer-kind or the hidden sleek kind. Either one works in the interest of safety.

From my understanding, and also at least in the case of Seibon, the items weigh in somewhere between 15-25% lighter than stock. I don't have the weights of the stock stuff on hand but I hope that helps. I would also recommend some hood pins with a carbon fiber hood. It's really a safety thing so it's not a bad idea. If you don't like the "ricer style" hood pins, Top Secret makes some rather nice, albeit expensive, flush mount ones.

Hood pins are terrible IMHO, but in the case of a guy I know they are good things to have. He didn't have them on his Celica (7th gen) and while going down the freeway at about 65 (so he say's) the hood came undone from the latch and flung open. It destroyed his windshield, rolled over and messed up the roof and the rear hatch as well as almost completly ripping off his spoiler........ not to mention you know he soiled his pants even if he won't admit it

I don't know about these really "needing" hood pins as there is no "scoop" to catch the air but it's probably a case of better safe than sorry
