I had the same questions, but after typing "Cold Air Intake" along with "Hydrolock" into a yahoo search engine, the info I found was very helpful. Several forums and a couple of Wikipedia entries made my decision to buy one much easier. I've got one coming that should be on my doorstep in a couple of days.

Can someone comment on what'll be recommended for a Fit AT
CAI, Short Ram or the T1R CF Box Intake?

Thanks
WK

I installed the Aspec CAI without taking off anything but the stock airbox.

I gotta say, the Aspec intake sounds GREAT! Nice growl to the engine, especially above 3K in the RPM band of 2nd and 3rd.

Aspec you say? I have an intake on my 01 Ranger 4.0L and it sounds awesome. I need to get one for the Fit. Where can I get one of these Aspec intakes?

Yep...best value IMO. It's not nearly as expensive as everyone else, looks great, and it sounds reaaaaaally good.

Here is a Dyno done by Import Tuner for the Fujita CAI. Gives you an idea of what to expect.

I hydrolocked my integra before.. AEM CAI.. drove over water that collected on the side of the street, certainly not 3ft, maybe 5" MAX, splashed up and a little while later, car locked up and wouldn't start again. I screwed up by cranking so much, later in the night it started back up but something was NOT right. Anyway, 3ft is not necessary to hydrolock, I will say that I did not have the fender liner in place as it was torn off some time before. So yeah, I've always been a little wary since. Fortunately, the intake is on the driver's side now, so collected water on near the curb isn't going to be as dangerous.

If you're that worried about hydrolocking, just go to teh AEM website and get the water bypass valve. It's like $60 and will pretty much fit any CAI kit
