Fujitsubo Wagolis or Tanabe Touring Medallion

I'm looking at one of these two. I have heard they are both towards the quiter end and that is what I am wanting. Could owners or people have heard or seen them let me know which is the better exhaust. Thanks ! :D

Illusive 03-06-2007 10:20 PM

I got the Fujitsubo Wagolis and love it!

milano sol 03-07-2007 12:39 AM

either one would be a good choice IMHO.

Tanabe makes really good quality products and fitment should be spot on......and same goes for Fujitsubo. I'd say Wagolis ;)

what a pain in the ass that is... the sheer nerve of these two companies putting out two great products and making the decision difficult... lol

i had a power getter on my sti and the fit/finish bested my blitz nur spec touring and my hks cf/ti by no small margin. based on that i'd be tempted to go fujitsubo again.

that said, tanabe's exhaust seems to be no slouch. both are good and neither are done justice by videos online, apparently.

between these two, for me, it's just a matter of who has the best price now

Wagolis Rules! The quality is exceptional.

gettinafit 03-09-2007 09:13 AM

I had the Fujitsubo Wagolis axle back on my Fit, and it was great and quiet. A purr when you start it up, and if you get on the gas a growl!

I had it on my car for 10,000K miles and it was in great shape when I took it off, no real tarnishing! Great quality product. I since switched to the T1R Cat back due to a real good offer on it, but it is much louder! But the performance is better!

Yu can't have it all, but if quiet is what you want and quality, go with the Fujitsubo!

Mynute 1 03-09-2007 08:55 PM

Did you only have the Wagolis and no B pipe? I am planning on getting the Spoon B pipe in addition to the axle back I choose. Do you think that since the TR1 is a cat back system that is why the noise as well as power increased? I wonder if the same thing may happen with the addition of the Spoon pipe. Any thoughts on this folks

milano sol 03-09-2007 09:07 PM

i had the Spoon axle back on for about 4 days then added the b pipe. the piping matches the axle back (which isnt much bigger than stock) and the resonator is about the same size as stock.

volume shouldnt change tooo much...maybe just a lil deeper than before but thats about it....nothing dramatic :)

hope this helps.

Mynute 1 03-09-2007 09:37 PM

Thanks for the response milano sol, and everyone else for that matter. How loud is your Spoon axle back?

milano sol 03-09-2007 11:32 PM

haha pretty loud. you can find clips on youtube of the spoon fit (which is pretty much stock.....air filter and b pipe with exhaust....thats pretty much there only power mods) so itll sound similar. im gonna try again for the sound clip tomorrow from my car.

YouTube - HONDA FIT SPOON superstreet time attack

this should give you an idea of what it sounds like.

I've been using only the Wagolis axle-back since last summer but within a couple of weeks, I will be adding the Spoon b-pipe. From my discussions with folks on this site, it appears that this could be one of the the best exhaust combos balancing sound levels and performance.

Tanabe Concept G axle-back

Would someone who has this exhaust please post pics of it installed? I've searched the forum and all that I have come up with is a dark video of the exhaust. It sounds great and the muffler looks good off of the car, but what it looks like on the car is what counts. So if anyone could pull some pics up it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Tanabe DTM Medalion - opinions?

As much as I love mufflers with a coffee can tip I (currently have one on my CRX), I do not like how low they hang under a car. I prefer a bit of euro touch being a europen myself. I am experimenting with this one from my Integra. It might not be everybody's cup of tea, but I am still curious to hear your opinions. Fire away please!

Pipes look a little big to me, but I like the design. Looks like the RS*R if I'm not mistaken..

Craiggers 04-04-2007 03:52 PM

Thanks! I'm sure this will help others looking at different exhausts too!

Kane1313 04-04-2007 03:54 PM

NP... That was taken quickly in the morning before i head out to work. will get better pics next time =D

Tanabe Exhaust?

ok, so heres the situation.

Im interested in the Tanabe exhaust systems. Primarily the Concept G and the Medalion Touring.

Concept G is a little bit more aggressive and sportier than the Medalion Touring. From what i've researched on..both have a pretty nice deep tone to them. Both look nice.

But i still cant decide..
should i go for the more aggressive look? or the more low profile and discreet ride? What do u guys think?

Spoon-Fit 04-12-2007 04:54 PM

I got the concept G., can't tell you much on the Medalion.

To me the exhaust is not too quiet nor too loud. Perfect
for my daily commute. Fit and finish is great.

The exhaust does hang low and come out in a slight angle.
Better throttle response, but my butt dyno didn't feel any
power gain. I mainly chosed this exhaust to save a little
weight and throttle response.

fitsuperfreak 04-12-2007 05:11 PM

i was looking at the pictures on the Tanabe website (www.tanabe-usa.com).. noticed the Fit in there are actually japanese spec. i think imma call tanabe later and find out about the fitment for the US spec. I'll keep u guys posted. d(",)d

JDMchris.com 04-12-2007 08:32 PM

i have the medallion and love it. Im kinda over the whole canister style exhaust. The only other exhaust i would trademine for is the RSR c&k.

BTW both the concept G and medallion fit the USDM fit with no mods. I saved you a call to tanabe :)

lol. too late. called not too long ago. they said the pictures were JDM spec but the exhaust were actually made for the USDM spec. pretty koo, i'd say.
Thanks for the input so far guys.

Any other guys out there with these exhausts?
..or girls. xp

integradriv3r 04-13-2007 03:42 PM

i have concept g. very nice deep sound and when you want it to be quiet it can be (i usually have my car above 3500 rpm so its not :p)

freaky fit 05-21-2007 05:15 PM

the Medalion is $420?????? isnt that a little rediculus?

Nevermind. I saw it.

sLiVeRwOrM 05-21-2007 06:36 PM

I hate the fart can look, I went with the medalion and have not looked back, the price is kinda steep but its direct fit and the sound is just amazing. You only hear it at startup and 3200+rpms, but you feel it all the way :)

towelie 05-25-2007 08:47 AM

im buying a medallon but there on back order everywhere. but from expericane i would go with the medallon its a canster so its quite and not a heat up with the cops.

Tanabe Concept G sound clip? anyone?

Yes ive searched the forum and ive only seen one of the links. im wondering if anyone can post a better quality video of their Tanabe Concept G exhaust?

ZREXER 06-22-2007 10:23 AM

I just installed the Medalion Touring and was pleasantly surprised how quiet it is. At first I thought it was almost too quiet. Not really all that much louder than stock. It seems to be a little louder with a few miles on it now.
Just a nice mellow low tone, not at all raspy...........certainly does not turn heads from the noise.

At any speed in the car, the sound never intrudes inside the car.

As far as fitting to the car, it took about 15 minutes. I have ramps, so I raised the car up which made working on it much easier. I reused the gasket at the flange. I put a light coating of high temperature silicone on it to insure a good seal.

The only thing I don't like about the exhaust is the overly large exhaust tip. It must be 5 or 6 inches in diameter and looks a little large when viewed from the rear. A smaller tip would look better and allow the exhaust to sit a little more tucked in as well.

Quality of the exhaust itself is probably the best I have ever seen in an aftermarket exhaust. The welding, hangers, flange are all first rate.

Almost too nice to put underneath a car!

Tanabe USA 09-25-2007 12:07 PM

If you guys have any questions about the products please let us know!:)

Hey we got a kick out of that! That DTM muffler is pretty old school. I think that it actually goes pretty well with the Fit. :D For doing something different.

Tanabe USA 10-22-2007 03:06 PM

Heres a "How Its Made: Tanabe Exhaust" article that we just posted. Thought that you guys might find it interesting.

ciburri 10-25-2007 05:08 PM

Any chance something like picture below would be in your design pipeline?
I love my DTM Medailion of my Integra GSR so much that I put it on my Fit for "in your face" look, but I would not mind something flat black, dual tip with creative tip design.
I am geting to an age where polished mufflers stick like sore thumb when shined by a lights of a following cop car! Living in a small SF East Bay town where nothing goes on does not help with local law enforcement boredom!
