From tanabe usa ( website )

MSRP and Vendor sale price end up being two TOTALLY different numbers though.

:)

The picture posted above looks exactly the same as my Tanabe muffler.

Here's the video of the tanabe exhaust I got fitted on my Jazz.

Chikubi 08-09-2006 02:11 AM

Hmm, not bad, but too quiet for my taste. I had an Espelir JGT500 on my xB and it sounded awsome -- too bad they don't have one for the Fit.

pNz 08-17-2006 03:27 PM

Tanabe Touring Medallion installed...

The exhaust is very quiet but is already getting louder as i break it in (drove less then 2 hours so far with it). Heres a youtube for you guys...

WOW... Really nice and quiet just how I like it. How does it sound inside the car?

pNz 08-17-2006 03:31 PM

well yesterday when i installed it I could only hear it when i started the car then it went quiet like stock. after some driving this morning its just slightly louder. Ill do another vid inside the ride if you would like. lemme know

clk1022 08-17-2006 03:37 PM

please tell us how loud is it thanks~

pNz 08-17-2006 03:42 PM

as of right now barely louder then stock. its very deep, but not loud. however, its still in the break in period and I expect a it to go a few dbs louder within a day or so. Tanabe instuctions say breakin period is 2 days. after an intake is installed thats a whole other story though.

jits14 08-17-2006 04:18 PM

is it just the muffler? cat back?

Soggy 08-17-2006 04:22 PM

That looks really nice. I love the small size canister as oppose to some other brands.

Tomh 08-19-2006 10:12 PM

looks exactly like the honda HFP muffler, and sounds the same, lol, so now i debat wether to ditch my HFp, or keep it.

kyeguy82 08-22-2006 01:39 PM

titefit 08-23-2006 05:26 PM

OHare Honda (chicago suburbs ) quoted me $399 ( not bad ). Has anybody ever heard of a Honda dealership selling and installing aftermarket parts ?

GoFits 08-23-2006 05:41 PM

It happens...they just have to be willing to risk possible legal issues that ay arise. ..like some ford dealer ships selling pre-jacked up trucks same kinda deal...scions with eibach and aem intakes.

My job at Norm Reeves Honda Superstore in Cerritos, CA is soley to consult/sell/install aftermarket parts. It could be anything, somethings do void the warranty though, but that's why I have a check off sheet that I had written by our corporate lawyers. It's an awesome program, and it only makes sense, considering people usually go through great lengths just to locate a part.

titefit 08-23-2006 06:01 PM

What I can"t believe is that they aren't jacking up the price for mthe exhaust , just for the helluvit I'll ask him how much for install. My Honda dealer ( Community Honda) wanted $65 to install a steering wheel cover. My dealers service mgr.will not even talk to me regarding mods. What response do you get from your dealers out there?

titefit 08-23-2006 06:04 PM

I'm glad Tanabe gave me the heads up , I can't get any parts info up here.

titefit 08-23-2006 06:09 PM

kyeguy, you being from the land of import tuners, do you know if tein plans on releasing coilovers for the FIT, and have you installed any tanabe axlebacks if so do I have to worry about melting my bumper?

kyeguy82 08-23-2006 07:27 PM

As far as the suspension goes, Tanabe "might" actually be working on a coilover kit for the Fit. Don't take my word on it, but I keep buggin Reggie to produce one. Tein is always retro-fitting and prototyping so I wouldn't be surprised to see a coilover kit from them in R&D stages. I'll ask around, maybe there is one in production. As far as the exhaust goes, I installed one on a customer's car. The exhaust sounds and "fit's" perfectly. Though its hard to tell if the bumpers will be altered/melted from the exhaust I would have no way in proving so. The only thing that I can assure you of is that Tanabe has been around for ages, their products are top notch as seen by the "fit" of all their products on whatever car they may be installed on. I have their exhaust on my g35 coupe, and have no issues with it. BTW, I have exactly one of each exhaust left over from my initial purchase. Be one of the firsts to get hold of one!

titefit 08-23-2006 08:40 PM

Dude, thanx for the info, it helps alot, Iwould purchase that conceptG but I kinda committed to this other dealer, if it falls thru i'll contact you. Thanx again

kyeguy82 08-23-2006 08:45 PM

No worries, I'm just here to help, as well as learn. I too am a car enthusiasts that does not have all the answers. :D

titefit 08-30-2006 05:24 PM

Tanabe exhaust has arrived (almost)

I get my hands on my conceptG exhaust friday:D . I can't wait. Honda wants $55 to install, import custom shop wants $150, ( thats crazy, its an axle back for gods sake:eek: ) do you think a Honda dealership would do a good job?any feedback would be appreciated

kyeguy82 08-30-2006 07:23 PM

of course they would! honda technicians work on honda's all day. if you think about it in this way, the fit has only been around since april of this year, the likelyhood of a tuner shop working on a fit is almost slim to none, considering parts just became available for it. on the other hand, honda dealership tech's have been working on them since they were released. just my $0.02, plus i work for a dealership and am slightly biased. =). oh yeah, and its cheaper! since when are dealerships cheaper than shops??!?!!

simons2k 02-28-2007 03:43 AM

How does it sound today? Did it get louder? Any hp gains?

pNz 03-02-2007 07:21 PM

it probably got just a little louder. my gf has the same car as i, and she cant keep up with me. could just be driver skill though.

simons2k 03-03-2007 01:59 AM

Any drone with this exhaust? So the exhaust note is not overbearing?
