Tanabe Touring Medallion REPORT

Just bolted up the Tanabe Touring Medallion.. I love it. I could barely tell a difference in sound, It sounds stock.. with a very quiet deep tone. Muffler was a perfect fit, and an overall very nice addition to my Fit. Excellent.

I highly recommend if you want an alternative to a tacky watermelon shooter.

Yes, axle back.. got it for $310 from JHPUSA.com. Not bad considering it is less than the Honda Sport muffler.

Please do post a sound clip. This is one of the only exhausts I like the looks of and to hear it is very quiet is great. I don't mind a little extra noise at wide open but on the highway cruising and at low throttle I don't want any extra noise. Can you comment on if there is any drone on the highway or around town at lower RPM's, <4k.

I found a sound clip here, is this pretty close to what it sounds like? It looks like a cheap camera so I am not sure the sound is that good.

Calling other exhausts tacky watermelon shooters? That thing is flared huge at the back and there is NO PERFORMANCE in that at all. *thumbs down*

If you want a true alternative to "tacky watermelon shooters" get a megan axle back!

lol.. I take it you've never seen a 5" pipe on the other end of a a 2" civic exhaust.. you know what I mean.. maybe we just have more of that here...

I'll try and make a sound clip.. but It really is very quiet, I'm not sure if a sound clip would do it any justice. Sounds like a stock car, no drone..

Exactly what I wanted to hear, hopefully it stays quiet even with intake and maybe a B pipe.

I would never run Megan/APC crap on my car. Granted the Fit is not the most expensive car out there, but I would rather stay OEM than put an inferior product on my vehicle.

Starting to get a little deeper as I put more miles on it.. sounding sweet.

I can try to take some recordings.

Inside the car, you can hear a little bit of deep-ness around 2-3k.. but after that, engine noise takes over.

Is this exhaust still quiet if you add headers and a 50 or 60mm B pipe?

Not exactly. The axel back adds about 2 hp. may not be much but it is something. The exhaust is more of a start when you plan on adding headers and a cold air.
