CO2 Spray?

Hey has anyone heard about a C02 spray for there fit? What exactly is it? I am just aware that it gives a car a boost like NOS but it is C02 and its better for the engine?

i've never heard of it. sounds weird though because CO2 doesn't burn very well (or at all?)

what you do is you use it to cool the air going into the car or cool the fuel going into the car. you dont' inject it into the engine.

Unless you are boosting and have an intercooler it will do NOTHING for a stock fit. All it is is spraying CO2 onto the intercooler to lower it's temperature. Grab a CO2 fire extinguisher and spray your radiator and see if you get any benifit.... NOT.

carbon dioxide....along with water and NoX are the bi-products of combustion...

the co2 spary is a worthless gimmick for ricers to put on their intercoolers

I've seen this before on other cars; it's probably less efficient then a properly designed cold air intake system, and it's more for bling then anything else. You use it to spray your intake pipe and chill it, thus quickly cooling the air entering the motor. You can also add a purge valve to get that nitrous spray purge look. Again, all show, very little if any go. But, to each his own I suppose...
I think it'd be counterintuitive to the low emission nature of the Fit, ha.
And my friend who lived in Japan found far more creative ways to cool an intercooler for far less. He put a T-fitting and added another hose in line for his washer fluid nozzles and ran it to spray his intercooler on his 180 and it did the trick, so he says. He also did the same in the rear so he could spray cars tailgating him... ha

to do the intercooler mister, you have to buy misting nozzles....but even then...it's worthless for any type of REAL advantage. I mean, if you buy a properly sized core...an efficent core as well...you'll have NO issues cooling incoming air. And even when you do spray/mist it...that only last so long...and to really be worth it..you'll have to spray it constantly under boost...do that a few times and you're out of your fluids.

The rear sprayer to stop tailgaters works MUCH better when you spray brake fluid. It eats the paint of the jerk behind you and smears the windshield.

lol, and it eats the paint on the back of your car and smears your back window too, so everyone loses.

Actually, Their are three types of Co2 systems out there;
1) Co2 nozzles spray onto the intercooler in a turbo setup. and if you've ever sprayed Co2 on an intercooler during a Dyno run... DAYUM!!!
2) Co2 fuel rails thearedically cool down the gas entering the injectors for what I've tested as a VERY pointless, doesn't work affect.
3) The last system actually has a water-drop shaped "bulb" that is placed in your air intake stream. When you hit the Co2, it flows through this bulb... as the air blows past the bulb, it is cooled down dramadically. Cooler = Denser = more power.

I have dyno'd cars with all three systems and have had the intake style on two of my own cars so far. The third option is highly recommended. A nice "nos" style boost without putting anything into your engine.

haha, it's funny....cause the fuel cooling is about the ONLY ting that's worth a damn of the three things you listed

intercooler spraying is just masking the fact that somone is too stupid to buy the correct core for their setup

and you're obviously either working for the dumbasses that make the kits, or just some stupid ricer that falls for gimmicks...you should try out a tornado

I know the new Subaru STI has some wizzy feature that sprays water onto the top of the intercooler. I don't know how well it works, but if they stuck it on there it must have some sort of advantage.

Smile Spraying Intercooler

It's a good idea....spraying an intercooler but like as mentioned above you would have to use it constantly and it would definetly come at cost to you!!!!
I know racers that bring an ice chests to there races....as soon as they arrive they place there frozen bags on the CAI and the front mount. After about twenty minutes of constant exposure to the frozen bags the intake and intercooler are extremely cold giving good power to a first initial race. After that it becomes more and more difficult to cool those parts.
But all in all just an extra!

I have seen good dyno results with this type of intake system on other cars. the bulb that is inside the intake pipe is an extremely aerodynamic shape that is super chilled with the CO2, making the intake air charge to be as much as 50 degrees cooler. i'm sure a lot of you have felt the difference between how your engine feels when it's 50 degrees and foggy as opposed to a dry hot 90 degree summer day.

i had a CryO2 kit long time ago back in my 02WRX days. it worked soso
to cool the intercooler especially in the summer time. with the intercooler
right above the engine it heat soaked quickly.

the problem i ran into was there's only a limited source for getting
CO2 in my area... one was the fire extinguisher recharge station which
was only open M-F 9am-5pm and far from work. the other was
BocGas...which they told me they can't do it cause they didnt have a
fitting for it? wtf?

and the other place was a paintball gun shop. they freaked out when
they saw my 10lbs bottle...they thought i made a paint ball gernade
launcher . they too didn't have the fitting for it.

so i ended up running nitrous in the CO2 kit which works just as well,
but more expensive... sold it rather quickly.

For anyone else interested in running C02 spray chillers, All Paintball playing fields buy 50lb. cylinders of C02, and get them refilled, at welding supply shops. There are such shops in every city. You can buy a large cylinder like these, and use them to refill the smaller cylinder that you use on your car. C02 is fairly cheap compared to the other industrial compressed gases.

Snowperformance has a methanol injection for N/A Honda's.....this will help cooling your overall temp.
