exhaust decible levels

so I was playing with a friends db meter and here are the results

at idle
j's racing exhaust and b-pipe I get 98db at higher rpm easily well over 100db

at idle
j's racing exhaust, b-pipe and silencer I get 91db at higher rpm only a slight increase in sound lvl probably 92-95db.

I would of tried 4k rpm but I was by myself.

going to try taking out the b-pipe and retest to check the sound levels once it stops raining

anybody in the LB to North OC area I can check your setup's sound level.

oo man.. thats not bad with the silencer, but on the js exhaust where does the silencer go? since the tip is angled down does .... i always wondered that. Also ill hit you up when i get my spoon exhaust, i heard it was louder than the js exhausts.

I dont see why people install silencers. If you buy an exhaust that "looks" high flowing its going to be loud.
Not to mention they look really ugly when theyre in.

I think that piping is too small for FI.... It should be at least 2.25in for FI. Even if the motors small. Id have 2.5in.

I don't think there is a 2.25" piping exhaust for the fit. Not like I'm going for all out power

Sorry for being off topic but...

do you have pics of your muffler with the silencer installed?

How does it go on?

slips right on. it's tappered instead of flat on the sides like the traditional silencer. I don't have a pic of it yet. Maybe tomorrow if I have time.

I think the J's racing exhaust sounds really good with just the axle back, considering the kind of noise you guys are encountering with the mid section I'm considering running the spoon b-pipe to keep the resonator and tone the sound down a bit. Was wondering if anyone is currently running this setup?

I'd be curious to see the numbers too, but it definitely is LOUD. Do a search on YouTube for dougiepant's 3 vids from when he had his Fit. He had the full J's setup and it just wails in the clips (sounds awesome, of course).
