Alright I need help...

So i read through the "unbolt your stock axle back" thread and I though that it looks pretty cool so I'll give it a try. So i start doing it, but i can't get the 2 bolts to unscrew. I'm pretty much completely lost. I've put WD-40 on it and everything.

Can somebody help me out on such a simple thing. I don't know what to do. I want to take off my axle back and the fact that it is so simple is pissing me off!

BTW, I feel like the biggest noob in the world, hah.

Don't try turning the nuts on your b-pipe... they're welded to it.

If you're having trouble loosening the springbolts, use a longer wrench/ratchet for more leverage. If you're trying to do it with a small one, it'll be more difficult. Brace the piping with your other hand, too. The pipes will move quite a bit due to the rubber hangers, which works against you trying to twist the bolts.

And if that's not working, pick up some PB Blaster from your local hardware store. It works a lot better than WD-40.

Most importantly, don't force anything. Last thing you want to do is strip, freeze, or break anything.

Good luck!

Loosen the hex heads closest to the actual muffler (facing the rear of your car). These are 12mm. I know this sounds dumb, but also ensure that you're turning them the right way... sometimes you can get a little disoriented underneath the car and accidentally tighten instead.

I'm going to go ahead and say this because it sounds like you haven't worked on cars too much, but don't forget to use jackstands and wheel chocks when you lift your car. Safety first, man!

you don't need to lift your car to get to the axle-back springbolts, but do be safe if you lift it! make sure you're actually turning them counterclockwise is all i can say. maybe it's because you're looking at it from the bottom-up? you should be turning them in a way so that the tops of the bolts are going toward the driver side of the car. like you're trying to take a cap off a bottle of gatorade, except the bottle is laying flat on the ground lol. good luck man.

edit: Oh yeah be careful when/if you do get those 2 bolts off. make sure you hold the pipe up where you just disconnected it. the muffler's side of the joint you're disconnecting may come down on the ground and your tailpipe can go up and scratch your bumper. it's no biggie but just FYI.

I can't believe it's taking an entire page of posts and a couple days to figure this out!!!1!!

Here's a couple pictures to help. From this angle, you see the nuts, they are welded to the flange. You can't loosen them no matter how hard you try, ok?
You want the other side, where the bolt head is right up against the spring. Loosen the bolt to the left.

Here you see it looking toward the front of the car from the rear. See those bolt heads there? Loosen those, again, to the left!!
