Battle of intake systems

Hey guys. I'm kinda new to all this. I've had my '08 SSM Fit for about a 1 1/2 months now. I love every bit of it. Reading on all the cool stuff here I starting to catch the mod bug. I thinking of upgrading the intake. Caught between two:

Mishimoto Carbon Intake

and

H-Fit's Super Sucka Intake

Each have thier pros and cons. Mishimoto's is less expensive, looks cooler, and from what I've read helps hp, torque, response and all.

H-Fit's is not as attractive, is a little more moolah, but makes up for it in other ways. Customer service, presentation, r & d, explanation, reviews are all very impressive. Read a few threads on it, everyone seems to love it.

What to see what thoughts you guys have on these and any other systems. Pros and cons? Mpg's? Looks? Which do think is the best? etc. Appreciate any input.

there's a lot of info on both of these intakes in different threads. if you use the search tool, you'll find most of them just typing the name of it.

mishimoto dyno graph is in this link.

and h-fit's dyno

Haven't really read up on teh mishimoto one but i have the h-fit intake for y automatic and here are some of my pro/cons/etc
pros: has a great sound, gives some extra HP and TQ, has a nice loud roar after 3500rpm just like everyone else says. easy installation with good instructions.
cons: if you care for looks.. doesnt look like much. it will increase air intake and i have stock exhaust system, I can feel the air building up when i try to to do wide open throttle from a stop. so.. it feels like i could unlock more power if i had a better exhaust setup (not entirely sure if that is correct, but i'd like to think it is :-p)

thats my short take on it. do some searching on this forum you'll find more answers. good luck!

Thanks for the input. I have actually read both threads in their entirety before posting this one. Thanks for the pros and cons though. Hadn't really thought about the how exhaust comes in to play but that does kinda make sense. I saw "sticky's" thread "Official Intake Thread". Still have more to read in there. But that's given me a lot good info on different types of intakes. Still deciding. Hope to hear more opinions tho.

I can voutch for the mishimoto. slight increase at 3500 and a very noticable increase from 4500-6000. not bad for the price. also noticed a slight increase in mpg as well.

I want the mishimoto. It sounds great and an 8hp and 7tq increase is great for just an intake. Plus the cf looks hot too!

No more mishimoto!

Ok, I had decided to go for the mishimoto. But low and behold, the deal is over... I guess. They weren't real clear on that. All they said was that they are clean out. So as far as I know, the $180 price tag is no longer available. If I'm wrong please let me know. At the moment, the Supa Sucka is less expensive. The intake on Mishimoto's site is $320 and the Supa Sucka is still at $280 as far as I know. I was ready to get the mishimoto but at double the price I wanted it for - not so sure now. So, once again, I'm left with wanting (and not knowing what one). I may have wait a good while at these prices.
