what is the engine codes? its a 1.5 liter i know but is it part of the new R-series?

 

The 1.5L VTEC engine code is L15A as its an L-Series engine and the hatch variant equipped with this engine is a GD3.

The Honda Airwave is the station wagon version of the Fit and shares the same engine.

The 1.5 is an L-series engine. An L15A to be exact. In Japan and other countries the FIt also comes with an L13A which is an i-DSI. Its basically the same engine that goes in the Insight without the Hybrid technology. Its good for about 86 bhp. The block, transmission and most internals are the same. The only noticeable difference is the stroke.

 

GD3 is the chassis code. If Im not mistaken the Fit has 8 chassis codes 7 of which will not apply to the US version since they do not plan to release a 4WD version, the L13A or the Fit Aria (Sedan).

i thought it was GD6 ~ GD9 = seden
and GD5 is the 1.2L sold in saudi arabia?
