fuel injectors
what size fuel injector should I get to push beyond 9 psi?
which brand? DO I need special connector clips to install the injectors? Thanks |
To support power you want to shoot for a flow size. Byeond that, things like brand really don't matter.
Get RC450cc injectors, those will do nicely for your goals with plenty of overhead. Make sure you get the Saturated (high impedance) injectors. I think there are clips required to make them fit your OEM harness. Clips came with my RC310s in my T1R kit. |
rc450 might be overkill for 8psi~10psi
im thinking RC 370cc saturated |
You can't hurt anything with injectors that are a little too big. 450s won't cause any issues idling, but injectors that are too small can cause big issues. Lower duty cycles tend to increase injector life.
That said, it probably won't make much difference so long as they can flow enough. |
+rep to you, explosivpotato

Do i need to use spacers to run RC injectors? which clip to get?
honda style top? or just normal one? |
upgrade your fuel pump too if you are going over 9psi
|
I need to know this too...
|
RC injectors will require a spacer for the fuel rail, in my experience. My assumption would be that Honda style tops would be necessary. Reference the emblem on your steering wheel for proof. (sorry, I had to).
I couldn't tell you exactly at this moment. I could take a look at my flow test paperwork from RC at home after work and see if it reveals anything. |
it's ok guys i figured it out.. it's really simple and i made it too complicated
in order to achieve 180-200whp, which is really 220-250 crank power. you will need four 370cc saturated injectors. SPACERS are included with the RC injectors. Get the SL4-0370. It is the one for modern Honda's fuel rail (ie. rsx, civic etc).. then buy the OBD1->OBD2 clip, part number CLIP-HCC. do not get the Honda Top Style RC injectors as it's for older Hondas with resistor boxes. newer hondas don't use resistor boxes as they use high resistence fuel injectors. rep me as im the first one to openly share non biased info. |

Has no one tried S2000 injectors? They are 360cc/min and the stock fuel pump in 190lph. Best of all you retain OEM reliability and no walbro fuel pump whine. Also, you don't need injector clips...they're a honda part already. Stock s2000 put down around 190 whp which is around what most FI fits are putting down. I have a s2000 but I'm lazy and haven't got around to test fitting, that and pulling the fuel pump is a bit of a PITA to pull.

look into the acura rdx injectors ;)
410cc and can be found for about $40 bucks each online new. |

you get some USED RDX injectors for around $50- $80.

so it would be safe to assume that the k20/k24 injectors work for the l15a?

they have an excellent spray pattern and they are cheap... |
to use RDX(K23) injectors on RSX(K20s), you need clips from the Scion TC
how do u know that the normal k20's 310cc fits on L15? |
Type S 310cc's are a direct replacement. No need for additional clips BUT you're right bout needing clips for swapobg RDX's into RSX's
|
so if u want to boost to 10 psi will the 310's that come with the t1r kit work?... or will i need 370's min or 450s for some leayway incase i deside to build the motor later.... also will the fuel pump need to be upgraded?
Im hope that 310 that come with the t1r kit will be sufficent to run 10 psi.... but better to know now before i tune than try to tune @10psi and max out the injecors..... or the fuel pump... thanks in advance Cam |
guys are running 10psi on the t1r 310cc injectors.... i think it is almost maxing them out though.

i would suggest going with something like the acura rdx injectors since they are cheap and oem reliable and 410cc basicly go with as big of a injector as you can idle properly...my n/a 1.9 liter motor in my 2k civic si runs on 440's without issue....ive idled 1.8liter gsr motors on 1000cc injectors without issues.... go with the acura rdx injectors or get rc440 injectors.... |
thanks for the heads up, now i have got to compair the local pricing for the rdx vs the rc440's..... anyone want to buy some 310's?
also, the fuel pump issue... intank or exernal? any suggestions? or not needed for 10 psi? thanks in advance Cam |
im still not 100% sold on the RDX injectors.. its just bugs me to use some other car's oem injectors
fuel pump should, in theory, be upgraded along with the injectors.. usually it's Walbro 255lph.. i think it's an inline fuel pump so should be simple enough |

so 4get the inline pump.... walbro 255 is the one to go with? or mabe a bigger 1? so if in the future i build the motor i wont have to go buy it then...
also y are you not sold on internal pumps artie? thanks in advance cam |

also y are you not sold on internal pumps artie? thanks in advance cam i dont like inline pumps because its another point of failure...also if either pump fails you end up getting less fuel and going way lean and possibly doing damage...with just one pump if it fails your engine shuts off no damage... |
FYI..part # 16450-RWC-A01
$36.74 each @ Acura Parts @ AcuraOEMparts.com - Genuine Acura OEM Parts from Delray Acura |
and those work on the stock l15 motor?
|
Yes, you just need to mod the stock plugs or wire in Scion plugs so they plug in.
It's what I'll be using. |
What are the stock injectors in CC's?
|
185 or 195cc depending who you ask.
Either way, VERY small. |
I guess so. I ordered the RDX one for my build....should be enough.... :)
|
the RDX injectors don't even fit the stock fuel rail... not even close
went with 410 RC's |

but from forum post i find RSX injectors will fit out GE8 fits.and the http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Civic-Acura-RSX-K20-K24-R18-RDX-410cc-Denso-Fuel-Injectors-adapters-4-/201394139955?hash=item2ee406b333&vxp=mtrinjectors listing show that they fit RSX.so they should fit.
What about http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRE-370cc-Fuel-Injectors-Fit-Honda-Turbo-B16-B18-B20-D16-D18-F22-H22-H22A-VTEC-/331543939962?hash=item4d318f0b7a&vxp=mtr ? here from another thread it is stated that we share R18 injectors ?? |
I am running rdx injectors in my gd3. They literally bolted right in. I did have to change the clip and file down the pins slightly. I used Toyota sienna sidemarker clips.
This is a decent write up, DIY: RDX Injector install - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum I bet they will fit in the ge8 just as easily. I don't know why spoolin said they don't fit at all? |
