Help with cat delete
#5
Did u reset ur ecu after u installed the cat-delete? U have to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to remove the code and let the car "re-learn" all the sensors. Just take of the negative terminal. That should fix ur CEL. If u have the oem radio, make sure to have ur radio code ready cuz u will have to re-input the code when u disconnect the battery.

I have the same problem after my install, if its anything like my other cars its just a "hey stupid" light and doesn't have any negative side effects. Or I could be wrong and the fit may be different?

the light comes up because the bung for the sensor that is on the cat delete is not long enough to not read the hot gases coming from the engine..just get a cel fix extension and that should take care of the problem..

edit: i am gonna fix it, its just a tad bit cold out hahaha...

does the cel actually cause any issues (a/f irregularities, limp mode, etc) or is it just a dummy light saying its reading that the cat isnt doing its job? i havent noticed any problems since the light came on.

I didnt notice in loss in torque. If anything it should have helped. But for now i put the stock cat back in place. I am going to go with the resonated delete from Megan sometime in the future to quiet things down a tad. And i may order an o2 extension from ClubRSX and add a second CEL fix just to make sure i dont get the dang light.
