***UPDATE***06 Civic Si shift boot with pics

I want to replace the accordion shift boot, and I saw that the shift boots are similar. Does anyone know or have any experience with them. I know our boot has 6 little tabs that hold it in place.

AJ Pwr Jr. thanks alot for the help, I called Honda today and they only want 28 bucks for the boot/silver circle bracket, so I figure that isnt too bad. If this has any chance of working, I am gonna do it.

***UPDATE*** Pics of SI shift boot on Fit

Well, here is the finished product...it took about 45 minutes to do, and I personally think it looks alot better. Should have come this way.

thats the Skunk2 Anniversary shift knob, you can find it on any import website. Just be careful, the knob comes with a bolt that tightens it in the correct position, but it doesnt fit. You have to buy a different bolt that fits the pattern.

there is enough material for the shift motion to work fine, and if you look at the top of the boot there is a plastic ring which allows the boot to slide up and down as the shifter moves. As for the install, the way the SI shifter and Fit shifter are designed is completely different. We have 6 small tabs on our boot that snap into 6 slots. The SI boot goes inside the silver faceplate and then has another piece of plastic push up against it from underneath the center consol which holds it in place. So I just used a razor blade to even out and cut 6 tabs on the new boot, and slide them through the corresponding holes. I used super glue to attach them once they were through the 6 holes. Thats about it.
