mugen drop in mini-review

Installed the mugen drop-in filter 2 days ago. Simple to "install" just swap out your stock one and remember that the foam side is down (meaning you can't see the nice mugen logo)

top side

bottom side

what you notice right away is that it's a bit louder than stock. when you punch the gas, it gives it a little bit of a roar, not too loud but maybe 10-15% louder than stock

from 3250 and up, the car just pulls better.. on the highway, in 5th gear, the pull is there if you want to pass somebody, instead of having to downshift to 4th. 2-3-4 are all more powerful.

definitely worth the money

Can you confirm if this is cleanable or not?
I'm assuming that it is since they sell a maintenance kit for it as well.

Yes it's reusable. You can buy a mugen cleaning set but a AEM or K&N cleaning set is the same.

You have see fuel consumption decrease ?

You installed on a L15A or L13A ?

Sweet! Hope this is available in NA from someone. This is the kind of simple mod that is wife-friendly

i am on my second tank of gas on the new filter, haven't notice any change in gas consumption

you can pick this up from AJR

i got stuck in a big traffic jam yesterday, so my normal gas consumption usage is thrown off.. i will update on the next tank of gas

but there is defninitely an improvement in power

i am ordering the maintenance kit, i like how it's got a built in "pre filter" (the Mugen logo foam piece) that you can rinse before having to clean the actual filter

I looked on AJR's site, but didn't see them listed, is there a price you could tell us or a link to it you could send us.

Does anyone have any expericence with these?

Which ones or one have people found to be the best for the value?

What is invloved in the cleaning process?

What is the mileage to do so?

I have one of these and didn't get the full lowdown from the vendor.

Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions...

Here are three places to get it from and their prices in USD. The links go directly to the products page on each website.

King Motorsports Unlimited, Inc.
- $110.00
JHPUsa - $110.00
Bulletproof Automotive - $129.67

A little late on telling me those, i got one back last fall, and have since removed it to retain the gas milage i had lost by using it, car ran richer with the mugen air filter, alteast that is my guess since my exhuast tip had gotten alot of carbon buildup on the exhaust tip, however not since i removed it.
