Less power steering at high speeds?
Is there any way to stiffen up steering at high speeds? I bought the 2012 Fit S M/T moving from a '98 VW Jetta, and maybe I just need to get used to it, but it feel like the power steering is a bit over-sensitive at highway speeds (70mph). Small movements of the steering wheel result in larger directional changes than I would like, making it more difficult to rest a hand down at 6 o-clock and just cruise.
" The fit has power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering with a revised rack to reduce steering effort a low speed. As speed rises, the power-assist gradually increases steering effort to a more reassuring level. " |
It's electric power steering, no fluids. I'm thinking it could be a lot of work to change its characteristics.

At high speed would be more prudent to use 10 and 2. Steering is fine then.

Black3sr hit it - thumbs above the spokes. It is a well designed steering wheel. K_C_:cool: |
