Exclamation Catalytic Converter Removal

I Heard that remove this converter makes fit run faster. is that RIGHT or WRONG? Is it Safety to remove this thing, especially for all the sensors like oxygen?

Anyway, what kind of replacement for this catalytic? thanks...

I hate to be this guy, but the reason the catalytic converter is there is to prevent unnecessary air pollution. While you *might* not care, many people do. Please don't take a green-ish awesome car and screw it all up.

Even if you take teh cat off, the most your going to gain is 2-3 hp, so if a large fine is worth it, then go ahead.

I'm not sure about the Fit(cause I don't own one yet), but when I tooked out my cat off my '98 Eclipse and replaced it with a BOLT-ON straight pipe, my "check engine" light came on.......and it smells bad(pollution!). But the engine does respond and sound louder. And it was a hassle to put it back on when smog check time comes around.....

High flow cats for the Fit have 2 holes through them instead of one and are no more restrictive than having no cat. So why remove the cat?

id have to agree that taking off the cat is pointless. i hate to see people doing ghetto things to a new car especially trying to eek 2 hp out of a car thats not meant for performance in the first place. save your pennies and get an intake, exhaust or boost the lil guy.

I hope someone will produce High Flow Cat. for the Fit later on.

My friend had a Maxima and he had one of this Cat. on his car. I don't really know what is that, but he said "No point to take is off"
