Black hood? Why?

What is it with all the Fits that have their hoods painted black? Why not another color? What's wrong with the original color? Just curious.

I don't think there painted black I think there carbon fiber hoods. People usually get them cause there lightweight and it's different. But I'm not a big fan of carbon fiber, if I do buy something that is carbon fiber I usually paint it.

Carbon fiber is alot lighter, but it is mainly looks. The way the weave shows when the light hits it is nice

Ahh. Ok. That's kind of interesting. How much lighter are they?

painted hoods

Actually there are a lot of pianted hoods on older run down cars. They have a flat black look, and it doesn't look good. I think they are just trying to pull off the carbon fiber hood appeal.

I think what you're seeing is people that have hoods that come primed from the manufacturer and were never painted to match the rest of the body.

Which makes sense on a POS, since who would spend $300 to paint a hood that's more than the value of the car ;p
