Clear Bra on Ebay for Fit

Anyone know if this kit is any good? I was quoted 700 to have my hood, bumper, fenders, and mirrors covered in X-Pel stuff... but this kit on Ebay looks exactly the same but is only 45 dollars shipped to me...

I guess mine was about the first Fit to use theirs a year ago.

It has a very slight blue tint to it. The mirror pieces didn't match up to the USDM Fits mirrors and it didn't quite fit the front bumper. It came up a little short. I think they had the pattern for the JDM Jazz and thought it was the same.

Their customer service is great so you should call and make sure that they have fixed the pattern. And specify a base or sport.

They sent me their pattern that they plotted it by and I showed them where to make adjustments to it so the fitments should be better now.

Here is a pic complete with bugs.

You can see under the headlight where I trimmed it at an angle since it was coming up short anyway. It still looks good and it definitely helps.

I also purchased some of the 3M paint protection Film in a roll and used it for the rear bumper.

The 3M is clearer but for the difference in price and the fact that it will be replaced in a couple more years anyway I think it was worth the difference in price since I installed it myself it was better to learn with the cheap stuff first.

If you're really picky then go with the 3M and the professional install. You can find an installer here Find a Professional Installer I think it's a little cheaper that the X-Pel like around $400-$450 but I'm not for sure on that.

If you just want to protect the paint or want to try installing it yourself then it's well worth the $45 for the experience.

Tips: Keep it rolled up until ready to start.
Try not to get the backing wet.
Separate it from the backing slowly and carefully.
Use lots of soapy water.
The silicone squeegee from 3M works great compared to others.
Have a razor knife or box cutter handy (for where the pattern isn't cut thru completely).
Have someone help (It takes 2 to handle the large bumper piece).
Get a "heat gun" (a hair dryer just don't get it, Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices $10).

Save the large scraps you may find other uses for them (I used them to do the sport ganish trim on both sides and the door handles where your fingers go to prevent scratches).

Hope that helps you make your decision. It's all that comes to mind off hand.
